5. Marshon Lattimore

Lattimore doesn’t have an interception at the professional level yet, and maybe you haven’t noticed him all that much. That is a great compliment to a cover corner such as Lattimore, who is already lining up against the opponent’s best wide receiver a high percentage of the time. Lattimore didn’t play in Week 3 at Carolina but did great work against Brandin Cooks the week before and was instrumental in shutting out the Dolphins on Sunday. The Saints were fortunate that Lattimore lasted until the 11th pick overall, and with a wealth of young talent in their secondary now, the back end of New Orleans defense is really rounding into shape. Lattimore is the key.

I thought that for this Saints defense to be successful that Lattimore would have to vie for rookie of the year award. And he certainly is in the running.

If he stays healthy, this is a home run draft pick. Something we've desperately needed on the defensive side of the ball. And that safety we drafted in the 2nd round does not appear to be too far behind.

I'm really surprised Kamara isn't in that number. If Lattimore can last 15-16 games a season we may have hit gold. I just hope we aren't looking at another "All Pro" that is only good for half the year.

He's still very young and will have a week to rest.

I'm not all that surprised to see where Latt ranks after 4 games.

He is the type of player where I can see him used a lot like Patrick Petersen is in AZ. Just line him up against their best WR and literally watch him take away half of the field.

Lattimore is just that talented.
