Who are the top 10 active Quarterbacks?

1. Peyton Manning - You\'re telling me Brady could do what Manning has for the Colts? Give Manning NE\'s team and they don\'t lose until he retires.

2. Tom Brady - the guy just wins

3. D. Culpepper - All the tools, we\'ll see what he does with a D.

4. B Favre - legendary

5. Mike Vick - can anyone else single-handedly change a game like he can?

6. Donovan McNabb - Other than Brady or Manning, has anyone won more games in the last 4 years?

7. B. Roethlisberger - Assuming that last year wasn\'t a fluke, this kid should maybe be 3rd.

8. Drew Brees - assuming last year wasn\'t a fluke, he finally woke up. If not, then he has to be down in AB land.

9. Steve McNair - Tough as hell and a winner. Had it all, but he is on the down side. Too many injuries.

10. Chad Pennington - If the guy could stay healthy, he\'d be top 5. Even injured he keeps his QB rating in the 90\'s.

11. Marc Bulger - If he can get out from under Martz I think he can be darn good. Even with Martz he\'s pretty decent.

12. Jake Delhomme - Improvement in his second year as a starter - a winner and a fighter.

13. Trent Green - Numbers for miles, but he can\'t get \'em over the hump and it helps to be in that offense. Hard to argue with a QB rating in the 95s I guess.

14. Byron Leftwich - He has all the tools he just needs to develop them. (Palmer & Carr could fit this bill also).

15. Billy Volek - The next big thing. He\'ll be good.

16. Matt Hassleback - just be consistent and you could be top 10 Matt.

17. Plummer/Griese - Both big names that have been average. Both could get close to the top 10, but I doubt either ever will.

18. Aaron Brooks - all the tools to be top 10, none of the brains. He\'ll have one or two more years in his career where he gets close or just in the top 10, but that\'s it. He will always be inconsistent and streaky.

19. Patrick Ramsey - someone sign this kid away from the Redskins and he could be serviceable to good.

20. Joey Harrington - ugh.

Who are the top 10 active Quarterbacks?

I got one question for the guys that have Ben Roethlisberger in their top 10.

First - Ben threw less than 300-passes last season.

Second - Ben threw only 17TD passes.

Third - Ben threw almost as many INTs (11) as he did TDs.

I just can\'t see top 10.

I\'m not knocking anyone with who that put in their top 10. So many things have to be taken into consideration.

But I think you place way to much importance on QB Rating. QB Rating really isn\'t all that important.

For instance. I think John Elway is the greatest QB ever.

But, take a look at his QB ratings:

1983- 54.9
1984- 76.8
1985- 70.2
1986- 79.0
1987- 83.4
1988 - 71.4
1989- 73.7
19890- 78.5
1991- 75.4
1992- 65.7
1993- 92.8
1984- 85.7
1995- 86.4
1996- 89.2
1997- 87.5
1998- 93.0

According to Elway\'s QB-Rating, he looks like a bum.

What happened to his Gum?
I wasn\'t planning on criticising anyone to begin with. I prefer to discuss things. But, \"sometimes\" I just go with the flow of the responses that I recieve.

There will be no critcising from me, saintwhodi.

Seems critical of those who have been in their top 10, and I have yet to see yours completed. Wow. Someone predicted that. And Peyton at TWO????? You would think the guy had no idea what he was doing as much as you down him. According to your other thread, shouldn\'t Kurt Warner be before him? :P

I hope whodat was kidding by putting Peyton at #1. He has all of the talent and all of the choking ability.

As I said earlier, I would rather \"discuss\" things. There was no criticism from me, whodi. Just discussion.

You\'ll understand that concept one day. Hopefully ...

As usual, saintwhodi, you pick and choose whatever fits your thinking. You did see all those other years for Elway?

Selective reading habits, I suppose ...
