No New Contract!!!!

Even if what I read about M&M getting a new deal was heresay, he has earned a raise just as much as Horn\'s third raise.

M&M was third in picks, despite only playing in 10 games, and on pace for 50 tackles. I\'m sure that would\'ve also been near the top for CBs. My stat site is acting up.

I seriously doubt his new agent, Rosenhaus would advise him to come here, without the prospect of a new deal. M&M costing a #2 is evidence in itself that \"the whole league\" didn\'t view him as a bad apple. He would\'ve gone for far less, and probably to a better D than the Saints. Besides money, his beef wih the Pack was the schemes, and they did turn out to have one of the worst Ds in the league. I didn\'t hear a peep out of him all season, and he was one of the main reasons our D improved in towards the end of the season.

OK, I agree that he definitely came in last season and played well. However, his performance for half a season does not even begin to compare with Joe Horn\'s performance of 1399 yards and 11 TD\'s. Also, Joe Horn has shown consistency for all five years that he\'s been with the team never failing to produce less than 1000 yards (except for the 2000 season; 973/10 TD\'s). Sure McKenzie had a good year, but I would say Horn deserves a raise much more than McKenzie does.

First, if it\'s a VOLUNTARY workout, then let it be voluntary.
It is a league policy not to start before a certain date based upon certain union rules .

When you were 8-8 voluntary means involuntary .

So Horn should get a raise every season? Who is gonna be next? Benson? Smith? Donte? Devery? All of the above? Horn likely won\'t match last year\'s numbers, with the emergence of Donte Devery, and the TEs. Do these players ever offer a rebate? when their season dosen\'t stack up to the previous season\'s stats?

Whoa whoa whoa...

Yes I think Horn deserves a raise after finishing 2nd in the league in receiving and posting almost 5 consecutive 1000 yard seasons. No neither Dante nor Devery deserve a raise because they haven\'t been PRO-BOWLERS like Horn has. Joe\'s one helluva player and I think we should give him what he\'s earned. And how can you question whether or not Horn is going to match last season\'s numbers? What makes you think he won\'t? His past stats? Those have been stellar, so that can\'t be it. The \"emeregence\" of Donte and Devery and Boo? I think we\'re all still waiting for Donte to show the kind of promise he showed when we drafted him. Devery could be good, but I don\'t see him taking away from Horn\'s numbers. Boo had an awful year. Not one of those three is going to \"emerge\" and take away from Horn\'s numbers, no way. Joe is too good of a player. Joe has been a model of consistency, pay the man.

My point was that this \"Ive had a great year, so I want a new deal\" business of Horn sets a dangerous precedent for the youngsters. This is Horn\'s third deal in 4 yrs? Why don\'t I think he\'ll match this season\'s numbers?

1) The Saints declared they\'d like to be a running team.

2) Conwell was oft hobbled last season, and I wasn\'t even counting on Boo. I expect him to be traded. I was thinking of the other TEs

3) I fully expect Donte to break out this season

4) The Saints are chomping to see what Devery can do.

5)Horn is a year older. That means just a few more lasting nicks & pulls. Maybe he\'s starting to lose a step...

M&M was signed with the Saints keenly aware that he wanted a new deal, and he also deserves one. I don\'t have much more to add to this topic.

We\'re told that the team has informed McKenzie that there will be no contract extension at this time. http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm
Guys it doesn\'t mean he isn\'t getting one.
Let me see, right now Loomis is working on signing long term deals with Joe Horn, Deuce McAllister, and LeCharles Bentley
among others.
And oh yeah, he\'s preparing for that little event next week called the NFL draft.

Mike\'s agent, who is the one who recommended the sit out, needs to chill. They didn\'t say there would be NO new deal. They said not at this time.
Her\'s a thought.
HOW ABOUT AFTER THE NFL DRAFT?

Oh, and profootballtalk is about as reliable as the National Enquirer, or even CBS nightly news.
