No New Contract!!!!
I say cut his butt and let another team deal with his bull:
The news on the contract front hasn't been as favorable for another Saint, cornerback Mike McKenzie. We're told that the team has informed McKenzie that there will be no contract extension at this time. McKenzie was traded to the Saints in 2004 after his efforts to get a new contract in Green Bay failed. McKenzie currently is the only member of the team who is not participating in the involuntary voluntary workouts. http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm |

Draft Carlos Rodgers in the first round and Cory Webster in the second... then we\'ll be fine We are going to bust an Eagle like when the drafted Sheppard and Brown to replace Vincent and Taylor.

How will this reflect on the Saints, by refusing to honor their agreement with MM? He played up to his part of the bargain, and has a right to act up. It\'s a slap in the face for him to watch the Saints reward Horn for the third time, and not him. I\'m sure other FA\'s will let this influence their decision to come here.

Hell, we never get any really good FA\'s that want to come to New Orleans anyway and for Baby Mac to begin his hold out before any negotiations could begin is pretty stupid if you ask me. I am sure the Saint\'s told him they would renegotiate prior to the regular season, I don\'t dispute that fact but we have another 5 months to go before that time and Baby Mac should have his butt at practice, PERIOD.

First, if it\'s a VOLUNTARY workout, then let it be voluntary. If you\'re going to hold it against someone for not attneding, then it\'s not voluntary. Call it what it is.
I\'d also like to know what was actually said to MM about a new deal. I don\'t really remember but I seem to recall it was something along the lines of : they\'d look at re-negotiating, rather than a promise that they would. I could be wrong. Lastly, If MM doesn\'t like the contract he is playing under, he should fire his agent. He signed the thing. He should live with it unless the Saints want to re-sign him out of the goodness of their hearts. |

No, M&M didn\'t like his contract, and yes, he fired his agent. Loomis slithered into the picture with promises of new deal, when M&M balked at playing for GB at his current salary. There\'s a reason why we can\'t get elite FAs, and it starts in the front office.
To me, M&M skipping an optional camp wouldn\'t be as dumb as cutting our best cb with no compensation and taking a large cap hit. |

I might agree with Scotty on this one, I\'m not sure exactly what was \"promised\" to Mckenzie. Also, MM was in a pretty bad situation in Green Bay and pretty much the whole league labeled him as a bad apple. I don\'t think I\'m going to take his side on this thing until he proves something to the franchise.
