Barron definitely would not be my pick, considering if several underclassmen had come out, he would not even be the top rated T in the draft.

But what you are saying Kool, is expectations are what determine a can\'t miss pick? Like player A is expected to produce much more than Player B, therefore player A is viewed as more of a can\'t miss prospect? I don\'t get that. The question was who will shine above all others, not who has the most expectations. I think the most expectations are on either QB if they are pcicked first. Braylon Edwards is rated higher than Mike Williams by a lot of experts cause of his speed, so I don\'t see how Mike\'s expectations could be higher than his. Lastly I don\'t see how a player can still be \"freakin\' good,\" and be a disappointment. Those two shouldn\'t go together. Do you have an example of a player like this? Anywho, I don\'t think everyone thinks Mike Williams is a sure thing, especially since he has sat out a year, but the question was
why not everyone pick one and one only out of the 2005 draft that will come in and shine above all others?
and a few picked Mike. I think Braylon Edwards expectations are higher than his. But he will be the star of this draft.

Whodi, I understand your quandry.

However, puddin said, \"most likely to disappoint\".

It is my view that disappointment is a feature of expectations. Imagine a player that is expected to come in and \"set the league on fire\", but merely turns out to be a good player. That player could be a greater disappointment than a player who was expected to suck and did.

Either way, I was just trying to make sense of his claim. You\'ll note above that I think that Williams is the least likely to be a bust.

BTW my pick is Derrick Johnson. Mike Williams is a close second.
So you\'re brushing off the reports that DJ has a tough time shedding blocks?

BTW I think it\'s going to be Thomas Davis playing LB. The guy doesn\'t have the cover skills to be an elite safety in this league. But the punishing power when he heads downfield will serve him well as an LB, and those same suspect cover skills as a safety will be superior for a LB.

And he\'s going to probably be there at 16.

I don\'t want to rain on anyways parade but.......

Whoever the ravens or redskins pick first on defence

or

The first \'skill position\' the colts or chiefs take on offense

it will be a case of a good/great player landing on a great unit

(sorry to pepper the thread with reality)

I understand Kool. But I was operating under the original poster\'s, smitty I believe, most likely to shine quandry. Sorry for the confusion. In my mind, the most likely to disappoint is Braylon edwards. This guy is being talked about as a number one overall pick here and there, and people readily admit he has a problem with drops. Plus Michigan receivers\' track record in the NFL is for poo. Expectations are higher on Edwards than they are on Williams if we are going that route. Plus, my boy Kiper said yesterday Mike Williams is the most likely player that we will be looking back on in 15 years as the best of this draft. Hefty talk. But for me, Edwards is most likely to disappoint. Followed closely by Cedric Benson.

I think the first person the Ravens drafted on defense last year was Dwan Edwards and i think he played 3 games. The first offensive person the chiefs drafted was Kris Wilson. Didnt hear his name more than one or two times. Dyn-o-mite!
