Still there was a guy who was a lot like Manziel who played for the Falcons until they kicked him to the curb for similar problems.

What was his name?

Brees is probably the best leader in the NFL, and would be perfect for Manziel to learn under. Also, they are both short QBs .
Other than height there is no comparison between him and Brees whatsoever. Brees is so much better as a thrower its like comparing apples and spare tires.

Agree. Brees is probably the most accurate passer to ever play in the NFL. He also has an abundance of two other qualities absolutely required: 1) Intelligence and 2) Leadership. Not sure if Johnny was gifted with much of either....

NFL QB: Only the strong-minded will survive.

Having said that, I'm absolutely a 2nd (and even 3rd) chance guy. We all do stupid things sometimes. Well, I mean "I" never have, but some of you thugs peg the needle.

Re: Manziel

Sort of off topic but I don't get the Baker Mayfield /Manziel comparisons either. Outside of height, these guys are far apart. Johnny B Good was all over the place with his footwork up in Cleveland & throwing it up for grabs.

Baker doesn't do any of that. Not a lot of stupid throws, unnecessary risks. He surveys the field then takes off when no other options (see Russell W).

I don't believe Manziel is NFL material ... or even a capable starter.

Pass.
You don't fall of the face of the football earth and come back a few years later and become instantly successful, especially if you are a low-character guy to begin with.

best of luck.

Re: Manziel

He is not a team first person. When he walked out on stage at the draft he was rubbing his fingers and basically saying show me the money. He was spoiled and fell into a thug mentality. He never devoted himself before and I don't want to take the chance that this time he means it.

I don't want any part of Johnny Manziel!

Couldn't agree more....anyone that is a bit shaky to begin with may have problems in NOLA. There are temptations everywhere....but NOLA makes it very easy! JMHO
