Chris, I gotta lot of respect for your knowledge, but I'd like to know what you're basing that on...

What I've seen in Tra'Quan is unsure hands, bobbles balls/un-clean catches against his body...

He struggles against press corners and I don't seem him taking the top off defenses with a 4.49 sec 40...

While only 6-1, his arms are longer than his height - but he doesn't show a large catch radius, catching many balls against his body...

His route running is, well, raw, undiscipline, rounding off routes, lacking suddeness in his breaks...

One of his positives is that he is a willing and able blocker downfield for teammates...

But we didn't need to take a slightly better Brandon Coleman in Round 3 - he was a Round 5 pick at best...

Especially with guys like DT Harrison Phillips, OL Alex Cappa, TE Dalton Schultz, QB Kyle Lauletta still available...

As fortunate as last year's draft was, I'm not very optimistic about the grade on this draft in three years...

And if we're drafting because of a window on Drew Brees, I'm especially p*ssed off that we've mortgaged the future for one guy...

Further, where was this urgency since the Superbowl win in 2010 or even three years ago?

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Y'all might hate me for saying so, but this draft feels like garbage as far as value goes. Davenport for next yrs 1st regardless if its 1 or 32 is a huge risk considering how raw he is. I like this receiver, but raw as can be too. Coulda got him later.

Our coaches are in for alotta work with these 2. We're swinging for the fences, but looking like we hit ourselves in the back of the head with the bat.

Ill gladly eat crow if I'm wrong, but I get this sunken gut feeling we're reverting to a 2014-type class. Got the same feeling then. We'll see when the pads go on, though. We still have 4-7 rds & UDFAs to get a better feel.

I could see some of that... but in Ireland we trust? I never like trading up. Maybe Tre'Quan will be used like a TE?

The complicit local media reported that Ireland and his staff set the boards "North and South" and then Payton and Loomis move them "East and West"...

Gil Brandt was praising the pick on the radio.

Always appreciate your evaluations JP! I’ve tried staying away from posting during the draft because I wanted to let everything sink in and not be too reactionary. I’m going to go back and look at the tape for everyone we draft plus our UDFA’s and maybe do some sort of recap with my take on everything.

I know I am a fat old lineman but I am seeing nothing but clean catches, the one he bobbles I wouldn't have expected him to catch, and it looked like he tipped it back to himself (It was out of bounds).
