Re: Fleener Dead Cap
I just don't have any faith in Fleener. He has a slow response time and looked outright lazy at training camp. He did not take the next step like we had hoped when we brought him in on a big contract that we now to get out of. Unfortunately, we will probably keep him and look at cutting our losses next year.
Maybe Dan Campbell should let Curtis Johnson whack Fleener with his whoopin' stick for awhile so he can toughen up some......just don't hit him in the head. ![]() |

Saints release Coby Fleener – ProFootballTalk
I think it's for the best for both. Concussion looked severe to me (repetitive) |

Injuries and inconsistencies will get you cut every time.![]()
Side note - the undrafted guy from WKY (name escapes me) has a shot to make the 53 man roster. |

Re: Fleener Dead Cap
According to many news sources they have already made the decision to cut him post June 1st. His cap hit will be 5 mil instead of 8.2

Re: Fleener Dead Cap
Even if it had worked out we still over paid. Only a small handful of TEs deserve that kind of money and he was never one of them to get that contract. Wish him the best but it was the right move. That 3 mil is worth more than him being on the team.

Re: Fleener Dead Cap
The Saints are going to be hit with the $3.2 million anyway. They're just taking that portion of the cap hit next year.

Re: Fleener Dead Cap
I still had a little hope but those concussions are probably not going away. I still wish him the best.
