The Times-Picayune reports free-agent LB Chad Brown, a 13-year veteran recently released by the Seattle Seahawks, is expected to visit the Saints in the near future. "We're still talking about that," his agent, Peter Schaffer, said Wednesday. "It looks like he will, but we haven't firmed up any dates." Saints GM Mickey Loomis would not confirm the team's interest, saying only, "If there's somebody out there we think could help us, we'll look at it."

WOW!

Good news ,I hope it pans out. We were just discussing him on another thread. Most felt for the right salary he would be an AWESOME addition.

He\'s old (35) and a shadow of his former self, but he plays the SAM.
He\'d have to beat out Allen and Hodge. No wonder he wants to visit.

He only played in about half the games last year, if memory serves. Definitely lost a step.

We\'re gonna end up with 53 LB\'s on the roster this year.

I\'m thinking he only played in 3 or 4 games. But, during them 4 games Seatlle\'s D was pretty darn good, untill he and G winstrom went down. He prob has lost a step but i think he\'s a heck of a player. Prob be an upgrade to the Vet LB\'s we have. So i say why not.
(He caused our O lost of trouble the past two years.)

I understand about the injuries and his age etc BUT.......

He has been in Pro Bowls in the past and he brings great leadership to a position many argue is lacking that. Again like I said for the right salary he could come in and add experience and good work ethic onto a team who at times last season NEVER showed up. I\'m sure he knows his days are numbered but here he could contribute. I\'m sure with lower expectations on him he could turn out to have a GREAT year?

I hope he comes to visit at least, and I would be happy if we signed him.

JENGA....I Win!

Sounds like another Bryan Cox experiment... for leadership or what not. I\'ll past, we have lots of lb\'s on the depth chart already. I rather develop one of our young guys.

If we need leadership at LB, sign him to be a coach. I have no idea how he will help us if we sign him and he only plays 3-4 games for us. Getting older usually does not mean less injuries. Hopefully he is a good sideline leader cause I don\'t see him playing a lot.
