My wife and I talk about her retirement regularly. That doesn't mean she's retiring immediately. We're planning for five years from now. I would expect the same for Drew and his family. Retirement planning is something that should be addressed WELL PRIOR to the actual event if one is prudent. Drew Brees is about as prudent as it gets.
