Haz on Gerry V's show yesterday

some summary of interview with haslett i found-

Big on Buckwoldt, don\'t count him out is what he said, very hard working, smart, doesn\'t make the same mistake twice, bigger, stronger, etc.,
He said Buckwoldt weighed 222 when he joined the Saints last year and as of yesterday was 247!
Said he was always fast, ran a 4.4 when they timed him, now has the size.

I hope he can keep his speed with the size..that should be a concern..and I hope that size translates to the feild...starting wLB?

15 LBs going in, will keep 11 going into training camp, so not all of the players they currently have signed will get to training camp.

Offense had 400 less plays last season than the year before. Concentrating on ball control more with 2 good backs behind Deuce so he won\'t have to carrying the entire load all season. Just to add to the above clarifications. Haslett meant that in the regular season games, the offense was on the field for about 400 fewer plays in 2004 compared to 2003. He said if they had just averaged 3 yards a play, that would have been 1200 more yards. Went on to discuss how falling behind really put the team in a bad position.

1. LB\'s-I hope they keep the ones that are performing and cut guys like rogers.

2. offense- hmm...

RE: Haz on Gerry V

Put Finch in the middle, if he\'s okay, Watson at WLB and Colby at SLB. 247 can handle that. 247 with speed could excel.
if those guys perform...... i'll wet myself......we just need a dependable DT to start along side young....then we could be looking at a 10-6 record...who knows could be 12-4 with our schedule.

RE: Haz on Gerry V

The humming that you heard was the HUM job that we all got when we drafted Popeye's poster child. THE hum I'd like to hear on Sully is that we HUMMED his azz out of town and got a football player. As usual, LoomBoom did a spectacular job and drafted another cripple. What kinda hum job was that? The Los Angeles Saints are going to do well though, cause the Angelinos and other communists love the cripple, stupid and downtrodden. Consider the fact that all of them voted for Al Gore and John Kerry.

I can see it now Nancy Pelosi will be the head Saint Sation. She and Barbara Boxer will sing the International as opposed to the Star Spangled Banner. Appropriate to the situation.

i have heard comparisons of Leslie and Young, undersized with great motors. I think he can be a role player, but i don't think he is a permanent solution at DT!

fire what i read about leslie was that he would never be a starter but would be a decent fill in for just the reasons you stated. that was when he was drafted.

He's 6-3, 315 lb. He's nearly as big as Jonathan Sullivan.
Where did you hear he was undersized? All I've heard was that he needed refinement. Not a dominant pass rush type, but a good run stuffer with a freakish weight room ethic. Like most late round picks there's an aspect of his game that needs work. He was late to camp due to NFL/NCAA rules.

I've also heard he had a great offseason and has impressed the coaches.
