I wasnt implying that GG had any shot of becoming an NFL QB. He sucked, clearly. And as far as being a QB goes, so does Taysom

Good GOD...thank goodness some of you nitwits don't run the franchise!!!

There may be something to the hand size issue (which I've no knowledge of as being factual as I've not researched). But the 2 picks weren't on him, I'd put both on the WRs. Across the middle hit him square in the hands and went right thru. Ginn got beat out for position by the DB and gave up on the play from the way I saw it play out.

The fumbles are coachable moments and we'll see if he learns from the experience. I haven't heard a single peep before this preseason game of this being an issue. If it truly was I'm pretty sure there would have been more on the issue during camp before now.

Did none of you people bashing him see the way he got out of the one pressure where he scrambled right and made a great throw to turn a negative play into a positive one. First down if I'm not mistaken to Arnold (I think? I gotta watch it again). The big thing out of that play was the reaction by Payton and the rest of the coaching staff. They seemed pretty psyched on that play and that was after the previous mishaps where you'd think they'd not be so impressed.

In the end...who am I gonna go with on thoughts about the #2?? You guys or Payton, Carmichael, and Lombardi??? I'll give you a clue...it's probably not anyone reading this forum post!!!

You literally wrote: "No one wanted to give poor GG the same benefit of the doubt."

GG had 3 full training camps, that's a pretty sizeable "benefit of the doubt" by any NFL team's standards. Hill had A half, a single friggin' half and you think he's got no shot of being a NFL QB....

A double dip$hit to you good Sir!!! Congratulations, you wrote something dumber than your previous post. Keep going, I'm sure you can eclipse yourself again!

Gawd, you need every.single.thing spelled out for you. Ok, try to keep up now. When I said no one gave grayson the same benefit of the doubt, I was referring to people here, on this forum, not the coaching staff.

Yes, Taysom had a single half. He's also had an entire year with the team, and an entire training camp. His single half was a complete disaster. GG had some pretty pathetic showings, granted, but never anything as bad as what we all saw from Taysom. If he proves me wrong someday and actually does develop into a solid QB, that's fantastic. As of right now, I'm 99% sure that won't happen. I've been watching football for over 20 years, I've seen enough mid to late round and undrafted QB's come along to feel comfortable in my assessment. If you, or anyone else wants to hold onto hope that he's gonna be the exception, then you are of course within your rights to do so. I have as much right and plenty of reason to think otherwise.

The perspective of this discussion will be real interesting after this week's preseason game...

I don't need to keep up, I'm light years ahead of you. I was right there with you hoping that GG would find "it" but he never did, and never could.

GG never showed half the promise Hill did in any realm of athleticism or QB capability. Hill is a project and you don't just toss a project out because of 1 "disastrous" half. You take the context of good and bad and see what they've learned and how they've graded out over the course of camp. You look for progression and if there is none...then you scrap the project.

Again, look again at Payton's reaction after the play I mentioned. I'm guessing he's tracking his progression a little bit closer than you, me, or anyone on the boards. As has been stated we need to see more than 1 half before saying he's got no more than a 1% chance of getting a job.

Question for you guys ...

Do you believe the Saints will cut Tom Savage & roll with J.T "The Ohio State" Barrett & Taysom Hill?

I doubt it. I have a feeling Savage will be Drew's backup. I'd like to see Barrett get more opportunities, but I don't see it coming.

Take your 75 post self back to the locker room and hold the clip board. Grown ups are talking.

As far as Hill goes, I keep hearing how good he is on special teams but nothing he has done sticks out in my mind. I feel like I would remember at least a play or two since he’s such an ace.

Saintfan,

I do too but here is my reasoning on Barrett. JT has a good arm, solid pocket presence & he's got "I've played for a top 10 program" accuracy throwing into tight windows. I don't think he is ready, but he at least looks like he has the tools to get ready. Give the guy some extra reps & see if he can become the #2.
