RE: Saints looking at Troy Brown
But if Stinchcomb continues to improve the way he is improving... and he can supplant Gandy during training camp (from what reports have been saying which is a real possibility), we might not even need to have him on our roster anymore. If he doesn't want to take an huge paycut... he's getting 5 million this year I think... which I wouldn't see why he wouldn't take one , there is all of our extra cap room right there.

RE: Saints looking at Troy Brown
Troy Brown, although short and old, possesses things that our WRs need: a classy leader with sure hands. He might be looking for more than the Saints are willing to pay tho.

RE: Saints looking at Troy Brown
He's getting just over 5 mil, as I recall.
I'm not sure I buy the stuff on Stinch just yet. Perhaps that stuff will shake out in training camp - I heard there are a number of teams who think Brown could play LT too. Maybe it is just a four way competition for both the RT and LT jobs among Stinchcomb, Gandy, Brown, and Mayberry? |

RE: Saints looking at Troy Brown
Tigger, please suggest we look at Simon from the Eagles or some other stud DT or LB. Every little bit helps!
I think T. Brown could be a good signing. Of course, last year, I was pretty excited about that had been in Detroit before he got hurt... |

RE: Saints looking at Troy Brown
I'm all for Brown, and I think that if there's anything Loomis does well (and there doesn't seem to be a lot), he manages the cap extraordinarily. I'm not worried about signing players - he'll get it done. There has been absolutely ZERO talk about being in cap trouble from the team - and there hasn't even been a suggestion that everyone won't be in camp when training camp starts. They'll get it done.

I agree kb. I don't think we should break the bank for him, but how much can he really want?
