Question for the Forum

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; If not for Brady I would say he would retire but the bar has been raised. That's what Brees is about. If the bar is there and he still is playing with dignity he is going for it....

This. I can't see him retiring until Brady retires. Regardless of what he says those records are very important to him

Re: Question for the Forum

Think about it. Brees is poised to pass Manning on Monday nigh and will end the evening with somewhere around 72,000 yards. Using 2017 as a new Brees standard, he should average about 250 yards per game and will finish the 2018 season at 75,000 yards.

If he plays another three years maintaining his 2017 average he would end his career at 87,000 yards. Throw in playoff games, etc and it's conceivable that he could top 90,000 yards, all while setting records for completion percentages, TD's, etc. and most years w/out a star receiver.

Records are made to be broken, but a 90,000 yard record will be around longer than I will. I'll be able to go to my grave knowing that Drew Brees, QB of the NO Saints, was the best there ever was.
