Africa has the same problem now it has had for centuries. Leadership. It has never had any. It was always willing, and is still willing, to sell its own people for the benefit of the ruling "master"...who isn't white and never was white. People have been trained to blame the buyers while giving the sellers a pass. That's marketing...masterful marketing.
Academics formulate all kinds of reasoning to fit the political climate of the time they're recollecting, and always in favor of the agenda they're supporting, but the problem is now as it has always been - Africa's black leadership defines corruption.
