CB Patrick Peterson ... Should We?

Him opposite Lattimore would be sick.

Who do we trade, Teddy? The Cards are going nowhere fast.

But who am I kidding... he's an LSU guy. And we know how SP feels about LSU, don't we?

I’d offer our 2019 2nd round pick in a heartbeat. Then we just draft for depth with our remaining day three picks. Heck, I’d even consider throwing in our 2nd round pick in 2020 as well.

No way, you could get him for a 3rd. He is on the back end of his career and has a bad contract to boot. I would make the deal, but if it were to happen the bye week should have been the spot for it.

I only say 2nd round pick because we traded our 3rd rounder for Bridgewater. It’s the only compensation of any value we can offer.

Re: CB Patrick Peterson ... Should We?

What do the Cardinals need? Draft Picks and Offensive linemen...

We've already put two first rounders into Davenport and a third rounder into Bridgewater, who's "extension" is a spreading out his cap hit over a couple of seasons...

The only thing I can see that might, might, get it done in the way of draft picks is two second round picks...

Now, the other thing is offensive linemen; now I've made my feelings about Armstead known (I'm not a fan), but there's no way I move him right now in the midst of this special run...

Plus, we're wicked thin with both Peat (out) and Warford (questionable), so we lack the necessary healthy depth to possibly package a good offensive linemen with a draft pick...

Payton, Loomis and Allen have again made a terrible miscalculation in believing they could get it done with a Crawley/Williams/Robinson opposite Lattimore solution...

Coleman was a bargain, but is not being used in his traditional safety role by Allen; Robinson went down with an injury and is not likely back this season...

Mr. Marcus, despite a terrific camp, has shown regression in the early part of the season, maybe scheme tweaks, simplifying scheme will get him back on track...

And we release two draft picks who were immediately snatched up by other teams while keeping at least one cornerback who's since been released...

Don't see how this secondary doesn't get remedied without a Peterson-type talent, unfortunately, we've prematurely spent our assets and draft cache and now have little options...

And the Cardinals already have Rosen, so you'd have to bring in another trade partner, or a different trade partner if you want to move Bridgewater...

Moving Bridgewater makes sense because if Brees goes down, the season is pretty much done anyway...

Denver has defensive assets, but Elway could have gone after Bridgewater and didn't; Miami is still in denial, at least for this season, about their quarterbacking situation...

Maybe Jacksonville? They seem committed to Bortles, though if he got injured, I could see them wanting to save their season; PS - I'd like not to pray for someone to get hurt...

Loomis needs to step the **** up and get real creative with a CB solution or we're gonna bounced in the playoffs...

I’d move the second rounders.

Consistent pressure from the D line would go a long way towards helping out whoever is playing the #2 CB spot. That's the most realistic and achievable solution at this juncture.

The problem is that Arizona wouldn't move one of their best defensive players for any pick because their likelihood of replacing it kind is minimal.

No way they let Peterson go.

Re: CB Patrick Peterson ... Should We?

If Peterson is too big of a swing, we should consider Gareon Conley of the Raiders. Gruden wants to move him and he was right up there with Lattimore in the ‘17 draft.

Re: CB Patrick Peterson ... Should We?

It could be a great fit given the LSU ties and that the Saints and Cardinals are going in opposite directions. But I worry about the money and the fact that he's already played for 8 years in the league.

Re: CB Patrick Peterson ... Should We?

The second it was said they are shopping him, Micky should have been on the phone. Even at the back end of his career, he is better than every DB on our team not named Lattimore. This seems like a no brainer to try to get it done. We are suppose to be in SB or bust mode.

Re: CB Patrick Peterson ... Should We?

Best I got, move QB Teddy Bridgewater to MIA for CB Xavien Howard...

I'd definitely start getting Justin Hardee more snaps, experience by letting him man the outside in nickel, dime packages...

He’s better than Lattimore too. They remind me of each other. Peterson is just stronger, but they’re both much better playing bump and run then off man or zone.

And if the Raiders are shopping Gareon Conley, see what’s up with the trade.

Chuck put it out he wants two firsts, but most feel he's looking for like a first and third, maybe fourth...

Conley real estate isn't worth a first, even if we had it...

Peterson is definitely worth two No. 2's, maybe a fourth in return...

Wonder if they'd take a player to be named later (Armstead) after the season?

We'd get some cap room for Peterson, move a younger Ramczyk to LT, extend Peat...

Hear us and the Eagles are the two most active teams and it looks like we are going after the same players. Going to be interesting before the deadline.

I'm never a fan of trading away your future for one year, but in all sincerity with the way this team is playing and impro in we could be one CB away from making a very serious push. Think you have to look at it

I see Bortles having another mare and just been benched for Cody Kessler
Could we get the picks needed for a CB by selling Bortles for a 1st or 2+another pick.

Peterson would be nice but would like to see someone a little younger if possible

I don’t care who it is... We MUST make a trade. Adam Thielen is going to have 200 yards next Sunday lining up in the slot against PJ Williams.

I now call him, Burnt toast 2.0

Toast and PJ starting making progress then we had a bye week. They regressed right back to playing like turds. So frustrating but winning helps ease the frustration.

Re: CB Patrick Peterson ... Should We?

After yesterdays game it is obvious we need smart CB. These guys (Crawley and Williams) are just single handedly giving the game away almost every week. You dominate your opponent and after 2-3 throws in their direction we have completely different ball game.

One more thing. Dennis Allen 2 min defense doesn't help these corners at all.

Von Bell didn’t look too good yesterday either. Two of those TD’s were on his watch. It’s imperative we make a move.

Yep. What exactly was his mistake on that last TD? Did he think a CB was going to get there? There was nobody else close. Was someone supposed to be there or was Bell just putting it off on someone else? I don’t know much about about coverage and assignments.

It was Cover 2. Lattimore could have drifted back a little more if there was no imminent threat to his zone, but Bell should have been over the top regardless. He was late. He got caught looking in the backfield.

Let me ask you Rez, what's your opinion of Bell? I've never been impressed with his coverage skills

He was playing well up until the Baltimore game. He’s a serviceable, yet, replaceable player. If I had to give him a Madden rating it would be like a 73. He’s the main reason I kept begging for Eric Reid.

I don't know about Peterson, but the Jaguars look to really need a QB after the past two games. Bridgewater for Bouye is more likely than Ramsey. Even that may require and additional pick.

If the Saints coaching staff is expecting a safety in Cover 2 to travel 21 yards against a WR that is only 15 yards from the goal line, comes off the line untouched and allowed outside then our coaching staff is not even remotely competent.

It is impossible for Bell to travel in a straight line to where Brown scored before Brown gets there unless Lattimore stands him up before releasing him or directs him inside.

So either Bell was lined up over the tight end in error, the coaches are idiots or Lattimore made an error.

Both safeties lined up over the slot receivers. On the opposite side of the field the corner carried his receiver to the five and gave up the flat.

Lattimore released Brown at full speed at the ten. Bell has already moved 5 yards towards that sideline but he is still 15 yards away from the pylon.

Bell would have to sprint from his position at the snap to have any hope of meeting Brown at the pylon.

Blaming it on a late recognition or reaction is stupid. Usain Bolt would have struggled to get there in time out the blocks.
