this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; If coach thought he could trade him to a team in need for a 2nd and Taysom is his guy then this makes a lot of sense. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl...cid=spartanntp...

Re: Bridgewater Insurance only
I can’t see it happening. Payton has said that Bridgewater is the #2 QB, not Hill. All the cool stuff we do with Hill would probably have to stop if he was the back-up.

Re: Bridgewater Insurance only
If someone come up and offered a 1st or early 2nd then I say bite. Other than that keep him and get the comp pick. Only thing that would change that would be Drew walking into the sunset with a second Lombardi

Re: Bridgewater Insurance only
We just shipped off JT Barrett which leaves us with only 3 quarterbacks. I can't see this happening either, but you never know with Payton and Loomis. In my opinion, we've never had a true capable backup quarterback to Brees except for Mark Brunnel, and eventhough we drafted Greyson and I forget what other quarterback with some fairly high draft choices, I feel like we've never really put a lot of value on that backup position.

Re: Bridgewater Insurance only
It's a win/win if he walks and we get our 3rd round pick back. It's a great use of the future capital once again by Mickey Loomis.

Re: Bridgewater Insurance only
I don't know if it is win/win if we do that because we still have to replace DB at some point...it wouldn't be a complete waste and terribly idiotic move if that happened. I could live with it if that happened. I hope he stays. We are one injury away from a **** season. TH is fun and I like having him, but he cannot compete against a starting unit with all the different looks you don't get in preseason.

Drew is playing some of the best football he has ever played, which is why I said the best move of our entire offseason was signing Teddy. Man Drew doesn't need to be pushed to be great, but even a nudge for that dude makes him play to the tune of 0 interceptions in 6 games. That figure is astronomical in my opinion...really insane. ![]()
At the end of the day there's absolutely no reason we cannot resign Teddy and unless there is an offer we cannot pass up I think he will be here. TH is not the QB of the future, sorry. I like him too, and he is one hell of an athlete. Teddy wasn't signed with the idea of him being here for one year. That doesn't mean that couldn't still happen, we might not be able to come to contract agreement, someone could offer a second round pick, but he wasn't traded for with this year only in mind. And to back that opinion up we went with Chase as our full time backup last year...anyone here really believe that Chase was better than Tom Savage. Tom is not a good QB, but I have news for you, neither is Chase...at all. He is actually kind of terrible. Tom is actually as good if not better. |
Your team stinks

IF something of material matter can be obtained that can increase our chances at Lombadi II then make it so, brother!
