Don't mis-read me, I'm not saying PFF is an absolute (I often take them to task via Twitter to justify their grade); I've always liked Berry and his game (when healthy), but at age 29???

And while Mr. Marcus showed some regression vs his outstanding rookie season where he was ranked as a Top 3 safety - I'd stay with the younger Mr. Marcus and look at coaching, scheme of Dennis Allen...

Personally I'd love'd to have locked up the secondary with a big physical Strong Safety who could mirror TEs or WR-X in the red zone, or something fierce like a Honey Badger...

With today's cap and the Saints always playing right up against it, there's just no room to go and make any big splashes - we'll have to temper our expectations...
I think those PFF grades are pretty accurate for both players. Eric Berry looked like a guy who was trying to get back into football shape. I think that rust will be gone this upcoming season. Elite safeties like him play at a high level for a long time. I agree though, the cap definitely restricts us. We have to shop in the bargain bin. Who knows though, Berry might come cheaper than we think.

Well, that's the thing though - Tight Ends and Safeties were suppose to be cheap this year because of a flooded FA market and draft depth...

Then Baltimore went and paid a third-string TE $6mil/annum and you got teams like the Raiders and Titans blowing the safety market out of the water...

Mickster/Payton calculus was like everyone else and still have realized you gotta keep that draft capital for a backup plan...

Eventually the undrafted free agency gemstone mine is gonna run outta gems...

JP,

Saints are running out of options at TE. Arnold, Hill's ... not good enough right now. Jared is solid and can make plays. I can see why the Saints have him in for a visit.

If the price is right, he's our guy.

Like I said, Washington is still trying to reconcile the senseless loss of Sean Taylor...

...he was that big of a deal to the Redskins fans...

Major, I understand Brother, but Cook is not going to be any better than we already have - he was the only target in the Raiders Passing Game the entire season last year and only produced 6 ReTD's...

Here's the thing, Taylor Stallworth is the only, THE ONLY, Defensive Tackle, not just DT3, but all DTs, that'll likely be available the first four weeks of the season...

Short of trades and hitting on every draft pick, we've got to shore the line up first are we're gonna get Cam burnt up using him inside or continuing to play him maximum snaps...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

This guy is really good player. Good signing. Didn't know he was FA.
