TRex is a decent backup "piece", but we need something more coming of the edge.
The guy was a healthy game day scratch (inactive) for damn near the entire 2018 season . That is kind of concerning. Hopefully Granderson or Gustin can shock the world in camp. |

ANd Rob Ninkovich was often a healthy scratch - then he was released under an injury waiver; took a year to get healthy in Miami... He then went to New England where he became a SuperBowl Defensive End... You're probably right about T-Rex, but he'll have plenty of competition for the 4th defensive end roster spot... Don't see Gustin playing Defensive End at his size (comparable to Hau'oli Kikaha); know they signed him as that, but suspect he'll get more of a look as an SAM LB... Kaufusi is a Jason Taylor-Marcus Davenport-wiry-type weak side defensive end that has terrific athleticism, but just may be lacking some sand and some strength... |

I think most of the Saints coaches believe that Davenport will become a 85-90% snap player in 2019. Keep an eye on Porter Gustin at camp . |

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Free Agency
Other than another veteran offensive lineman, can't think of any position we're in need...
Sure there are positions that can be upgraded, but you're not gonna have All-Pros at every position; I like our roster balance and that we have among the best at the key skill positions... |

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Free Agency
Other than drafting Zach Allen, which we needed a Center more, I like what we have to work with going into Training Camp - But, you're absolutely right that's a void that someone better step up into for us or the defense will regress...
And, Davenport may not be worth two first round picks, but he'd better be a force for us opposite Cam, especially with Rankins possibly out for the year. Big "O" has a helluva opportunity to seize that position and I for one hope he does... |

I'm still concerned about what the league intends (suspension) to do as it relates to the marijuana "issue".
