Don't be surprised if Coleman is right back here at a cheaper number... Saints Front Office are trusting the PFF-type analytics and believe Vonn Bell's is trending up, despite very shaky, inconsistent pass coverage... |

Don't mis-read me, I'm not saying PFF is an absolute (I often take them to task via Twitter to justify their grade); I've always liked Berry and his game (when healthy), but at age 29??? And while Mr. Marcus showed some regression vs his outstanding rookie season where he was ranked as a Top 3 safety - I'd stay with the younger Mr. Marcus and look at coaching, scheme of Dennis Allen... Personally I'd love'd to have locked up the secondary with a big physical Strong Safety who could mirror TEs or WR-X in the red zone, or something fierce like a Honey Badger... With today's cap and the Saints always playing right up against it, there's just no room to go and make any big splashes - we'll have to temper our expectations... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Who knows though, Berry might come cheaper than we think.

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Free Agency
Well, that's the thing though - Tight Ends and Safeties were suppose to be cheap this year because of a flooded FA market and draft depth...
Then Baltimore went and paid a third-string TE $6mil/annum and you got teams like the Raiders and Titans blowing the safety market out of the water... Mickster/Payton calculus was like everyone else and still have realized you gotta keep that draft capital for a backup plan... Eventually the undrafted free agency gemstone mine is gonna run outta gems... |
