Elite safeties like him play at a high level for a long time. I agree though, the cap definitely restricts us. We have to shop in the bargain bin. Who knows though, Berry might come cheaper than we think.

Well, that's the thing though - Tight Ends and Safeties were suppose to be cheap this year because of a flooded FA market and draft depth...
Then Baltimore went and paid a third-string TE $6mil/annum and you got teams like the Raiders and Titans blowing the safety market out of the water... Mickster/Payton calculus was like everyone else and still have realized you gotta keep that draft capital for a backup plan... Eventually the undrafted free agency gemstone mine is gonna run outta gems... |
