Loved BioChem, and should've stayed with it... Actually the more I watched Stanford's Kaden Smith and saw other scouting services post what I was seeing, I was really discouraged; and it's a big reason why I wanted us to FA route and sign Jesse James... Know everyone is tired of me wah-wah-ing about the picks to get Davenport, but sometimes the cost is too great to up, especially for a non-franchise QB position... Seriously, must stop myself from posting that thought at least twice a day; that move was that stupid in my book... |

62. New Orleans Saints | Blake Cashman | LB | Minnesota
Our only pick in the first four rounds is a linebacker?!? I don't know about Payton doing that...If our very own Luke Kuechly actually fell to us & we didn't take him, my heart wouldn't be in it after that... And here's an interesting scouting report on Cashman... DraftNetwork.com - 5-Play Prospect: Minnesota LB Blake Cashman Written by Trevor Sikkema |

Irv Smith Jr. - TE ALABAMA ... the knock on Irv is that he's a tad bit undersized at 6'2.

Will Grier QB, College Player An NFL scout told ESPN's Adam Schefter West Virginia QB Will Grier is a "riser" who "put on a show" during his Pro Day Thursday. Schefter adds Grier is expected to meet with "at least" 10 teams before the draft "including the Giants, Redskins, Chargers, Pats and Saints." Grier is not getting the same buzz as Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins or even Daniel Jones and Drew Lock, but he was a productive college player with good accuracy. Assuming his stock does not rise too far, he could be a good value option on Day 2. Related: New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Redskins Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter Mar 21, 2019, 12:11 PM |

How does that work with NCAA rules and ethics? It's LSU so you know they're not going to get the same consideration as Notre Dame, Bama, Ohio St., USC, Michigan or Georgia... |
Re: 2019 Saints NFL Draft Prospects (NFL Combine)
Now this is a man who would've been worth the move up from pick 30 to say, 20, if he fell that far...

Payton wont go near LSU as usual.
And weve missed out on a player like Deion Jones, and instead opted to go for Stanley Jean-Baptiste.... |

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Draft Prospects (NFL Combine)
I haven’t thought about how short on DE’s we are. It’s Jordan, Davenport and Hendrickson... That’s it. Mario Edwards said we want him at the 3-technique but he does have the ability to maybe play some strong side DE if necessary.
Definitely have to look for a rotational pass rusher; maybe even with that second round pick. Edit: This is assuming, of course, that we don’t bring in Robert Quinn or Ziggy Ansah. |

Pro Day Report San Diego State Tight end Kahale Warring continues to impress NFL teams and move up draft boards. Though he stood on all his combine numbers, he looked chiseled during weigh -ins and stood out in position drills. Warring displayed an expanded route tree, caught the ball extremely well and looked strong in blocking drills. Tight end coaches from the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles were on hand to watch Warring, who has already worked out privately for the Miami Dolphins. Warring, who looks like a lock to be selected during the second day of the draft, met at length with the New Orleans Saints and Denver Broncos. Offensive tackle Ryan Pope significantly improved his 40 time from the combine, clocking as fast as 5.07 seconds. He also touched 28.5 inches in the vertical jump. Multiple sources tell me Pope looked solid in position drills. Pope met with the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night, Washington Redskins on Friday and worked out for the Indianapolis Colts today. |
Re: 2019 Saints NFL Draft Prospects (NFL Combine)
Interesting...
Sounds pretty darn accurate to me; especially planning to acquire another early pick by trading away future picks. Payton and Loomis have alluded to that recently but we all assumed they meant trading players for more picks. |

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Draft Prospects (NFL Combine)
I’m very much convinced that we will trade our 2020 2nd round pick for a 3rd round pick this year. We can look at what we did in 2017 to acquire Kamara as the blueprint. As a refresher of what we did:
Saints traded 2017 7th round pick+2018 2nd round pick in exchange for 49ers 3rd round pick (pick #67.) This year, I look to the Patriots as trade partners because they have 3 picks in the 3rd round. We can shoot for their pick #73. What could we come away with? Preferably something like this: 62. WR Hakeem Butler (Iowa St) Height: 6-5 Weight: 227 40 Time: 4.48 Vert: 36” 73. OL Michael Deiter (Wisconsin) Height: 6-5 Weight: 309 Michael Deiter has started at LG, C and LT. He would make Peat expendable and save us a lot of money. |

I think Peat remains on the roster in 2019. Could be wrong but just my guess. |
