Re: Mark Ingram's farewell: "How can I be heartbroken and more excited than ever at the same time?"
BY ROD WALKER | rwalker@theadvocate.com Mar 15, 2019 - 7:28 pm
Mark Ingram, who spent eight seasons with the Saints before signing with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, wrote a farewell letter to the city of New Orleans on Friday. Below is Ingram's letter, posted on Instagram on Friday. Mark Ingram Letter Instagram Link The former Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Alabama leaves New Orleans as the second leading rusher in franchise history and the team's all-time leader in rushing touchdowns. It just didn't seem like money was the issue. He went to the Ravens on a deal that we easily could have gave him.

Re: Mark Ingram's farewell: "How can I be heartbroken and more excited than ever at the same time?"
His agent threw us a ridiculous high ball figure. We immediately went out and signed Murray for less money and equivalent stats. Ingram fired his agent immediately and then had to sign with the Ravens. I don't think he wanted to leave New Orleans. However, he should get the opportunity to be a feature back not a back up/rotational player for Alvin Kamara.
Personally, I love the man and what he did in New Orleans on and off the field. Ingram was always a great locker room leader and player. I watched him play at Alabama and was glad we drafted him. Roll Tide! He is unselfish and has a team first attitude. Good luck and thank you! I have always believed in Mark Ingram and I wish him nothing but success. |

Did anyone see his presser with Harbaugh a few days ago? He looked so miserable. I feel badly for him and can't help but think he's secretly very upset with his agent right now.
