Saints Sign C Nick Easton

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Twitter Does that help ease the nerves a little bit? It’s a desperation move for a guy who isn’t very good and missed all of last season with a neck injury....

Time will tell. I saw several Minnesota fans saying he was good when healthy, but also expressing concern over the neck injury. Hopefully our new team doctors know what they're doing.

Like Easton for the sixth-man/Kelemete interior role (Kelemete could play right tackle in spot-starts)...

Still think we need to get aggressive and geaux after Skura...

Re: Saints Sign C Nick Easton

Latavius Murray signs ...
Teddy B re signs ...
Now Easton ...

All former Vikings. Anyone else notice the trend here?

Back on topic - don't know much about Easton but I hope he can stay healthy (he's been injured a lot). I hope this isn't desperation signing 2.0 (Coleman/Fleener) all over again.

Any ways, welcome to New Orleans Nick .

From what I’ve gathered, he’s a really good pass blocker but bad in run blocking. There’s some out there with O-Line knowledge who like the move:

I find it interesting that we are bringing in guys that Teddy knows & has played with. I'm probably over thinking (life after Brees) this but just a random thought I had.

Coincidence. Don't think he had more than 10 snaps with either Murray or Easton.

Re: Saints Sign C Nick Easton

Easton will slide into Unger's spot and now we just need a couple of quality backups from the draft. OL and TE are shaping up to be the needs in the draft. I still think it's TE first!
