I'll admit, I didn't see Davenport coming last draft. Looks like a solid pick for years to come though.

Can't wait until draft night.
Plus One. For me, I took Davenport off my loved list after the Senior Bowl and no way did I see the Payton spending two firsts and a fifth to take a guy who got treated like this at the Senior Bowl...

But I'd agree that I think Davenport will turn out to be a fine edge defender for us - we just overpaid tremendously...

With Payton's love affair for Ohio State, I really thought we'd take Sam Hubbard in the Second, and I'd hoped we'd get Alex Cappa as well...

TE on the other hand. That's a position we can get later in the draft.

I love Zach Allen.

Add Justin Layne to that love list too and a real possibility at 62.
Totally agree about Tight End being deep. And with Cook now under contract, and our guys returning from last year, I don't even consider it a need at all...

Warring, though, is awfully tempting; and Foster Moreau is probably my favorite, most affordable TE fit for the Saints...

T.J. Hockensen would be like putting a big block in this offense...

Like Germaine Pratt, but he's a Senior-r, already and, curiously I can't find his DOB, age on any profiles?!?

This is an interesting, honest scouting report on him...

Speaking of "Thee" Ohio State ... thoughts on Parris Campbell? There is a good chance he is sitting there in the 2nd. Could be lethal in the slot & has serious jets to get open quickly.

Great Receiver, who, like @cantguardmike, was not utilized at OSU (which is why I have serious doubts about Haskins as a passer)...

But as I said in earlier post, I don't think we need to spend that kind of draft capital on a WR that just needs to stretch the field and this deep WR draft will have sixth round guys who can do that for us...

'76 rightfully pointed out Ted Ginn was a high draft pick, however, if that draft were re-done, he most certainly wouldn't be taken that high...

We're about to have some serious issues again on both the offensive and defensive line; actually there upon us though most don't realize it...

Since Cam Jordan's game has taken a 180 two-three years ago, so has my opinion of his game; but he's gonna be 30 this year and in no way do I like another big contract on a player at that position at that age...

Guess that's why I'm so high on Zach Allen. He's a Howie Long type that can play up and down the defensive line for ya; and, most importantly, he's a bully at a position where you need to intimidate...

Also, after Ramczyk, we no longer have any young offensive linemen starting for us and I'd like to see us get more youth on the offensive line. Peat may be departing, so a franchise guard makes sense as well...

I'd also keep an eye on Safety. Guys like Juan Thornhill could be that Polamalu-type that Kenny Verret was suppose to be and I'm sure Payton/Allen still covet...

Chance that him or Ridley could fall and if so we have to take either one and save TE for the 5th (Moreau).

Something tells me Moreau is off the board on Day 3 .

Someone (if not us) is going to get a guy who will bring his hard hat to practice every day & compete to get better at his craft.

Side note - I like Ridley a lot. Strong hands & runs routes accurately.

When it comes to WR’s, I think we’re more interested in guys that could be there in later rounds like Gary Jennings (West Virginia), David Sills (West Virginia) or Stanley Morgan (Nebraska).
