The Patriots are not a good example, in my opinion. Yes, they often have a buttload of picks, but they also miss on those picks at a far greater percentage than most. They owe most of their success to being in a sorry division, thus perennially giving them excellent seeding in the post-season. They are also far more active in free agency than most.

As for word about this Oliver kid, or any other rookie, concerning what the Saints, or any other franchise, is thinking ... I don't believe any of it. You know this time of the off-season is the season for misinformation. If anything is leaked out it is most likely the furthest thing from what is actually being discussed. Besides, each team has a certain number of interviews/visits allotted and all franchises should be looking ahead to when this current crop of rookies become free agents in four years, or so.

Well I didn't think the Saints would spend two first round picks like they did, so I wouldn't put it past Bad Sean...

And so far as New England, you're saying what I'm saying, you've got to have plenty picks so you can get more hits in the draft - it's basic numbers...

It's better to have more bullets than not enough, which is exactly the position we find ourselves, again...
