Re: 2019 Saints NFL Draft

This is a better interface draft simulator, doesn't come with the upgrade option to trade picks (which is part of draft simulation when players fall)...

Love their Mock Draft Machine! It’s the only one I use now. Love the fact that you can select for all teams. That’s a real lesson in futility when you try going all the way to our pick at 62.

Taking a stab at a mock draft based on players that we’ve shown significant interest in:

R2P30 EDGE CHARLES OMENIHU (TEXAS)
R5P30 WR DAMARKUS LODGE (MISSISSIPPI)
R6P4 TE DAX RAYMOND (UTAH STATE)
R6P29 LB TEREZ HALL (MISSOURI)
R7P17 OT RYAN POPE (SAN DIEGO STATE)
R7P30 OG IOSUA OPETA (WEBER STATE)

Prep for the frustration this draft will have for Saints fans watching other teams get better, reloading...

No kidding. I did a quick two-round mock picking for the NFC South teams and they get significantly better while we just grab a deep threat:

Round 1

5. Buccaneers- LB Devin White (LSU)

14. Falcons- DE Brian Burns (FSU)

16. Panthers- DE Clelin Ferrell (Clemson)

Round 2

39. Buccaneers- CB Rock Ya-Sin (Temple)

45. Falcons- OG Chris Lindstrom (Boston College)

47. Panthers- S Deionte Thompson (Alabama)

62. Saints- WR Emmanuel Hall (Missouri)

The only frustrating thing will be having to watch Roger Godhell hug all the players like he cares about them.
I know we will probably trade up which means I'll have to watch the whole draft even with our limited picks. I don't want to miss out!

I won't be frustrated at all. We've already loaded and will still be the best team in the NFL with the one or two draftees we get that make the final roster. I feel the importance of the draft is diametrically opposed to the caliber of the talent already on the roster. We have picked up players via free agency that will have more immediate impact than any player we draft.

But there is no guarantee that any of those players will translate to what it takes to succeed in the NFL. These teams have all let good veteran players go to free agency. Will they truly improve as a final product?
