Doesn't have to be. An injury doesn't have to mean nothing.

I'd disagree. The ability to be available is a very big deal. Jairus Byrd was a highly regarded free agent safety - was he worth the money? Most fans would agree quickly that he wasn't...

Spending the draft capital of two first round picks in one player is comparable; and on a team where a head coach would be accountable, that HC better hope that player is available to justify it...

Davenport is a fine player, hopefully he's at full health this season; but he wasn't worth two first round AND one fifth round pick.

JP ... I'm only asking but any reason to continue listing what the Saints gave up to get Mr. Davenport ?

Just seems like a story that will never die.

I am expecting him to be well worth that capital. And even if he doesn't in everyone's minds it is a done deal. What is past is past and no longer has any relevance as far as I am concerned.
