Saints Re-Sign CB PJ Williams

Makes sense because with only one draft pick (currently) in the first one hundred-fifty picks, next not till 168th, and a small CB group in this draft class, we're not getting a talented CB unless one falls at 62...

Shore CB up now and focus on S, C, G, OT, TE, WR, LB, DE...

So this is where we are now in the Defensive Secondary:

RCB (2) 23 - Marshon Lattimore, 34 - Justin Hardee (ERFA 2019)

NCB (2) 21 - Patrick Robinson (IR), 35 - Marcus Sherels (FA 2019), 28 - Chris Campbell (RFC 2019)

FS (2) 43 - Marcus A. Williams, 31 - Chris Banjo (FA 2019)

SS (2) 24 - Vonn Bell, 48 - J.T. Gray

LCB (2) 25 - Eli Apple, 26 - P.J. Williams (FA 2019), 20 - Ken Crawley (RFA 2019)

I don't know much about Sherels besides he's a really good return man. I didn't even know he could play nickel corner. PJ Williams did a respectable job there last year and I'm glad he's back to keep growing in the system no matter where he plays when his name is called.

I feel good with him as a solid backup and five million is worth the peace of mind to me and apparently Loomis feels the same way.

Communications is critical to the success to a secondary and the less turnover the better. To me, bringing back a capable CB is better than bringing in a new one with no on field experience with the others ... even if technically better.
