Joe Horn started 2 games in 4 seasons with the Chiefs... who knew he was going to pan out as a number #1 receiver for us. With 53 career catches prior to his signing... no one would have imagined he would have been such a star for us. He got an oppurtunity and capitalized on it. Stallworth hasn't had that oppurtunity nor will not need to as long as Joe is here allowing him to continue to develop into that guy.

At this stage in Stallworth's career (3 seasons), he's already surpassed was Joe did in KC. Joe didn't develop until season 5... the year we signed him. Judging by the way he's been improving every season, he certainly has the ability. If we didn't believe he could be a number one guy, we wouldn't have drafted him so high in the first round. Give it some time... I believe you are the only always saying it takes years before young receivers develop fully. He's still only 25. He had 58 catches and almost 800 yards starting only 10 games last year, a number which he definately can and probably will improve on in his 4th year. An injury-free year and improved hands will definately allow him to open eyes around the league this year.

We don't have a future #1, Joe Horn is all we got in terms of superstars at the WR position.

For me to believe that Stallworth can be a number 1 WR, he needs to step it up big-time this year. He needs a 1,000 yard season. Then I'll believe it.

Danno's right that he has all of the things you look for in a #1 WR, but he hasn't put it all together yet. I fear that he might always be a really talented #2. I think in the end, the Saints will sign someone to take Horn's place in FA. But who knows?

Yeah so far I agree when it comes time to replace Horn we'll end up getting a #1 WR via FA.

1,000 yrds and 10 Tds would prove stallworth is #1 with 100 catches and no fumbles.

You mean between 70-100 catches, 1,000 yards receiving, 7-12 touchdowns, and 0-5 fumbles. Because if you go by your stats, there wouldn't be too many #1's out there. Joe Horn hasn't had a 100 catches season yet... and I'm pretty sure he's fumbled before.

Judging from the numbers Stallworth has been improving on every single year, it's just a matter of time before he proves you all wrong. Have a little faith in the guy... he's a Saint as far as I recall.

Joe Horn will be a Saint for 6 years so It is to early to go off worry about the future. Stallworth still has two more years on his contract this year and 2006 season. I don't think we will resighn stallworth unless he has a 1,000 season before his contract is up. Stallworth did prove he could keep from being injured he was not injured for too many games last year.
If you remember correctly each time Joe Horn was injured Stallworth had a monster game. Bye the way as far as fantasy football goes when the Saints play Dallas it might be a good idea to start stallworth. Stallworth tends to have a touchdown and a 100 yard receving day each time the Saints play dallas look up the stats you will see that each time the Saints played Dallas he had 100 some yards and a touchdown. My point in Dallas ans Stallworth agument is this is Joe Horn is injured Stallworth usually steps up and has a 100 yard receiving day. The reason may not know this is because you don't get that involved in your stats. I HAVE SPREAD SHEETS ON GAMES DATING BACK TO 85 AND I'M ONLY 27. Bye the way i'm looking forward to a shutout this year the Saints have not shut out a team since 95 when they beat the Jets 12-0

To bad Stallworth and Horn wasn't playin in 85. If Horn hurting yeah he'll get everything thrown at him if he can get open. 5 games with 100 or more yards... verdict is still out. He has to deliever that almost every game, play thru injury. Even if he gets 70 catchs and avg. 100 yards or so... doesn't make him a number one you also have to look at why... maybe they are covering him differently because of Hakim, Horn ect.
