Re: Greedy Williams

Just don't understand why some LSU & sports fans in general are so invested with Greedy and others playing in 2nd tier bowl games. Maybe because Greedy gives LSU the best chance of winning while still saying he's "selfish" ? Oh the irony! He's already helped LSU make millions. Now it's his turn.

Believe it or not, most NFL teams want healthy players coming out of college.

BTW, good luck to Greedy Williams and his entire family. He had a great college career. I wish him all the best at the next level.

So he is still available. He shouldn't stay that long on the board thou I believe.

With that said, I'm actually quite pleased with the CBs we got. Lattimore is proven and Apple stadily got better after coming here in an inseason trade. He seems liked in the locker room and have all the talent needed. We might need some more depth but I don't think we should trade up to aquire that.

This relationship was particularly strong in baseball

Thank you for your support of my point. An injury can happen anytime, anywhere. The game that is skipped doesn't guarantee an injury free career.

You are foolish if you think one game would ruin his career. Name one player who didn’t sit out that got hurt in the bowl game

Which still got paid and drafted early!!!! In no way did his injury hamper his draft status. It does appear sitting is hurting greedy and Grier which I’m happy to see. And butt was hurt long before but kept playing. Big difference.

False. Had NOTHING to do with "sitting" out a bowl game. Not sure what scouting reports you subscribe to but Will Grier was NEVER projected to be a Day 1 (3-4 rd ) selection.

Every draft year is different. Greedy is sitting (he'll be off the board soon enough though) for the same reason Deebo Samuel, AJ Brown, Miles Sanders, Parris Campbell, Hakeem Butler etc ... Teams value DEFENSIVE LINE, OT & QB more than CB.

The 2019 draft has a ton of 1st round quality O and D lineman (see Clemson and Miss St players taken last night).

In a normal draft year, Deebo, AJ Brown & my man Greedy are gone by the end of the 1st round.

It is what it is. I'm not here to wish "bad" on quality players not getting drafted yet like Greedy W and Will G.

Get over it already LSU fans. It's easy to be overly critical of Greedy not playing when you aren't the one with anything on the line. We're talking about life changing money here. Just because playing was the right move for Devin White, doesn't make the right one for Greedy. He did what he thought was best for him and his family. Move on already.

With that said, I feel as if he had played, there would be a lot less chatter about him being a fringe first rounder. He would have cemented his position as the top corner prospect IMO. Or, he could have torn an ACL, got drafted in the middle rounds, lost millions, and millions more of dollars if he's never the same afterwards. I was perfectly fine with him being selfish for himself there. As other have mentioned, it would have been different if the game had any significant meaning.

If we had to have Greedy Williams to win that football game, then that football game wasn't ours to win.

I guess I must be considered old fashioned when it comes to my opinions on this.

When you say "If we had to have Greedy Williams to win that football game, then that football game wasn't ours to win", I take that same principal regarding the potential for injury in playing a game. I think that if you are afraid that your whole career and life is going to be ruined for not sitting out BECAUSE of fear of injury, then maybe this isn't the career for you. And if you play and get hurt, maybe it wasn't meant to be. Or maybe you get hurt like Willis McGahee, who completely tore up his knee, but still got drafted in the first round and had a solid career, making lots of money.

People say players make the university millions, but people aren't going to pay to watch a team that stinks, just to see a one player, generally speaking. It takes a good team. When you walk away from that team, it doesn't speak well of your perspective on life. It might be a game to us, but this is what they do. I believe that hard work and courage are always rewarded, even if the reward isn't what you expected.

People who have this mentality where money always comes first, are the same types who then hold out on their pro team, because they aren't happy just being multi millionaires, they want to make more than the other guy who just got paid.

Some teams are ok with that, and some aren't. But watch and see what happens with these players after they are drafted. Don't assume that being drafted highly and getting a big payday is the end of the story. I'm not saying these are all bad guys, and that they won't eventually do something to make it right. Everyone does things that they end up regretting once they've had time for reflection. so I'm not here to condemn any of them. It's simply that I disagree with their mentality.
