New England also has a very low hit percentage on their picks. They are among the most active in free agency, however. Mainly they have Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and play in the AFC East (which has meant the most to their annual success) which keeps them relevant.

Absolutely right. No team can do what they do every year. And that's the way the NFL wants it. Patriots = $$$. Don't think so? See how the ratings do for primetime Pats games vs pitting 2 small market teams together on prime time.

Equally important the Pats dominate since both NYC teams have sucked for so long. Having a team like us dominate for so long is bad business here in the poor ol dirty south.

I saw that the ratings for the LIE Super Bowl with the Pats was way down in ratings.

BB and his staff gets the absolute most out of their roster every year. And having an almost guaranteed six wins in the division doesn't hurt.

Ratings for SB & the NFL in general have been a downward trend since bout XLVI. Part of that is online streaming and the NFL's failure to adapt but I've gone sideways. Point is, as a business (which the NFL is certainly), it is more profitable for big market teams to be successful than us, Jax, Nashville, etc. If you're inclined to turning big piles of $ to bigger piles of $$$, more times than not you're skipping NO & TB for NYC & LA.

Oh yeah, and I sidetracked bout the 2nd & 7th Rd picks we lose for next year. My bad. We'll be fine.
