Wins, Losses in a PreSeason game don't affect me as much as the way we played...

The offensive line was okay (got serious doubts about Easton); the defensive line was poor, considering that's not an elite line...

And among the CBs, Apple, P-Rob, Hardee, Crawley were playing that air-raid 2016 pass defense and couldn't locate a ball...

Though he got called for Pass Int (questionable), thought Webster looked pretty good out there last night - a pleasant surprise...

Pre-season isn't about wins and losses, but the game matters in as much as the players have to perform, outside any kind of scheming for the opposition.

I agree our oline looked pretty good. I thought Teddy looked pretty good. Alvin is Alvin. MT dropped a tough ball in traffic it happens.

But anybody who doesn't want to acknowledge the crap we saw on defense is drinking some spiked kool aid. Of course it can be fixed. It was the first preseason game. It doesn't matter? That's a bill of goods Saintfan ain't buyin'.

C'mon Man...

I still don’t understand why some of you go back and forth with AG on this. Yes, it’s valid for you to criticize anyone involved in the saints organization at any time, we are fans, it’s what we do. The troubling part is some of you have been here long enough to know what AG does...
From the start of preseason to about week 4 AG will mostly post about it being too early to judge and slam others that care to discuss opportunities. This isn’t new, it shouldn’t bother you, it shouldn’t deter you from being a critic.
If you stop posting this site dies... so please, keep being a fan, even in the preseason.

The Saints are 0-42 when running the ball less than 15 times in a game.

Pointing out that so-and-so looked bad in this preseason game is far different than projecting that into "we're looking at a 2-2ish start", "our defense is going to be in trouble this season", and "looking like an 8-8 season" type statements is ridiculous. That's what irks me. The same like type comments were being made each of the last two preseasons with resulted in 13-3 regular seasons with the very real chance of winning it all again.

The first preseason game doesn't display what IS, it shows what needs to be worked on by the very lowest fringe players hoping to make the roster. A dropped catch by Michael Thomas in the end zone is meaningless. The lack of a sack by Davenport is trivial. The blown coverage by a defensive backfield with key members on the sideline is not a death sentence for the season.

I know that some of the posters here have a tendency to be overly critical of the team at times (for whatever reason), but I'll never understand it. I have zero control over anything to do with the competence of the team so I have always simply looked for and hoped for the best.

Be assured, I will always disagree and try to fight the "woe is us" attitude. Sorry, but it's how I roll.

By suppressing critical thought? Some are more tentative than others to express their honest opinion b/c they know it'll be met with over-the-top chastising...calling out their fandom, belittling their lack of professional football experience, etc. This passive aggressive control tactic is tiring.

But I will fight for the right for folks to share their opinions whether I agree or not without judging those folks. That's how I roll.

Absolutely share your thoughts. But don't chastise others for shooting holes in your thoughts. If you feel strongly about your opinion and can back it up with tangible facts then you can make a point in a debate.

Personally, I feel the preseason has very little relation to what we will see in the regular season. Under today's CBA regulated limited contact training camps the preseason games have turned into an extension of the camp itself and nothing more.

Explain to me why I am mistaken (even though persons envolved in the process have expressed these same observations I simply repeat) and I will honestly consider those opinions.

This isn't where you get to dump your garbage as it can get thrown back at you...

Don't be a snowflake in life, refine your argument or start being human enough that you may be wrong, and admit it - you will become a stronger human for it...

Everyone is a critic here, but I respect and appreciate everyone's participation even if I don't like their take or they don't take a liking to mine...

AG more than anyone's because as he's got more years than I as a Saints fan and he still bangs the WhoDat drum as loud as ever...

Don't forget, with the exception of a wandering Troll, we all share something in common despite our differences - We Love Saints Football!

Re: Saints vs Vikings Game Day Thread

I hope Kamara sits the rest of the pre season .. maybe a series in game 4 along with Brees but that's it.

With all of these RB's the Saints are bringing in and signing ... let's see who is capable of giving Kamara a blow if/when needed.
