Yeah. Carr is small guy that can be easily guarded. Not the best attributes for slot WR. Or any type WR. Lance Moore was not that athletic but compared to Carr... Carr is not chain mover... Simple as that.

I wish I could remember who said it or what the exact wording was, but I remember reading a quote once that said something to the effect of “Payton will always go with the guys that have marginal physical talent if their football IQ is off the charts.” From what I understand, Austin Carr is incredibly intelligent and probably aces the classroom portion of things.

Marginal talent usually goes home with an L. Production is all that matters at this level of football. I expect the Saints to bring in proven vet @ WR at some point this season. |
