Re: Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill?
TB couldn’t find his first read! They stopped playing the pass and stacked the box! This is AB 2.0. I’m not ready for another 6-10 or 7-9 experiment.

I’m behind TB for now. After a week with the ones and some plays developed to his skill set we SHOULD see a much better showing. I agree with Budsdrinker though. If he’s still struggling during the first half of the Dallas game I think you see Hill start the second half. |

Re: Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill?
I like Teddy, I'm a fan, and I want to see him succeed. I'm no scout, but this is what I see-
Pro's : He could have left to be a starter but didn't - loyalty points (granted, Miami a dumpster fire franchise, so reduced points). Strong arm when he makes his mind up, quick release. Athletic, decent pocket presence, confidant, good leadership, and decent accuracy. Cons: Slow to make a decision, seems to need to see a clear, obvious opening before throwing. This year a big focus in reffing is offensive holding (not just our game) so he's gotta get the ball out of his hands quicker. I think the Saints will give Teddy every opportunity to right the ship, and I'm OK with that, but Taysom has most of these pro's with less cons, and the mobility is much better, if they are smart they'll give him his chance if things tank let's roll the dice. |

Re: Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill?
I'd use both - to keepDefenses on their toes. I mean, it's one thing for Teddy to be tapped on the shoulder in the Rams game and "Get in there" as opposed to having a week to prep. So Im sure teddy will look better in Seattle but I would still bring Hill in and out at QB also - to keep them guessing an Hill is so good at scrambling for yards.

Re: Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill?
Bridgewater's demeanor might've looked passive and non-interested on Sunday, but the guy is a leader.
In Minnesota, players, coaching staff and beat writers were going on and on about how great of a leader TB was (is) - especially in the locker room. The team really latched on to him over there, which is why his injury was so devastating. Do you guys think players would be mimicking his chopper celebration in Minnesota and in NO if they didn't really like the guy and see him as a significant part of the team? I still remember his progression at the position in Minnesota, and when he took command of that offense - it was impressing to watch. Great things were expected of him in the upcoming season before the injury. I choose to believe that Teddy is going to show up in Seattle and going forward from there, which will produce good results for the Saints. Hill is a fan favorite and it's obvious why he is so liked, but as has been pointed out - he still has a lot to learn about the QB position, and I'd rather not see that learning take place at game-time as long as the season can still be salvaged. Teddy has a strong and accurate arm, and he can do things with it that Brees at this stage of his career can't. He has good mobility and awareness, but needs time to gel with the O-line and the 1st string receivers. There's no question about it in my opinion if Bridgewater should be the QB for as long as it takes for Brees to get back. There's no replacing Brees, and anyone put in at his position will compare unfavorably. |

Re: Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill?
This....There were times that he did get into a rhythm but like you mentioned the line failed him or it was some holding or offensive penalty that canceled the play. I’m telling you now, if the offense line doesn’t block neither QB will be successful. Hill can’t run every play...he won’t last long.

Re: Teddy Bridgewater or Taysom Hill?
I was driving home from work earlier and happened to hear Dianna Russini on ESPN radio. She mentioned that Sean Payton signed the 5 year extension because he definitely sees a future in New Orleans post-Brees... and that future is Taysom Hill. Teddy Bridgewater is a bridge QB. She says Payton is enamored with Taysom Hill and can’t stop talking about his potential.
Even though this is stuff we all pretty much know already, Dianna Russini is pretty plugged in and connected so hearing an insider say it was very interesting. |
