Re: 49ers are scary good
Shanahan has owned us for years. His offense destroyed us in Atlanta in 2016 and I'm pretty sure before that, he carved us up in Washington. No matter what your opinion of him is, he uses Dennis Allen's defenses as a punching bag.
I cannot believe so many people thought we could go into San Fran and repeat the same performance on them we put up on the dome. I got so tired of hearing from people "but we scored 40 points on the Niners!" yeah and WE LOST. First game in franchise history we lost scoring 45 or more points. IMO if we got a rematch with SF in the playoffs this year, they would most likely blow us out. I'm really not surprised to see Kirk Cousins go back to being Kirk Cousins. We make the most mediocre crap tier QBs look like Pro Bowlers before they stink it up the next week. That's why you guys need to stop blaming the refs and start holding Payton and Dennis Allen accountable. If you're paying attention to this game; notice that the 49ers called 12 consecutive run plays, and are constantly attacking Minnesota up the middle. They are also taking advantage of mismatches in the secondary. We did neither. We ran the ball a total of 17 times, refused to roll with Murray and Hill when they got hot, and we didn't take advantage of their weak spots in the secondary, yet we sit around and blame the refs on a tick-tacky call... that's us. |

Re: 49ers are scary good
One simple thing I've noticed in today's game ...
Niners doubled Theilan, linebacker (I think it's Kwon A) covering Rudolph & Diggs getting handled one on one. This is why I'll never be a Dennis Allen fan. Niners Def Coordinator calling a great game plan and removing any "threats" at WR. Coaching matters. |

I went and read on a 49ers forum this past week and their fans were utterly shocked that Payton didn't take advantage of the mismatches in the Vikings secondary, or bother attacking them by running up the middle. We see Shanahan doing it. They ran 12 consecutive run plays, and they've taken advantage of the mismatches by utilizing speed. Hell when the 49ers played us, they took advantage of our weak secondary and showed we could be broken down with big plays. People criticize Shanahan, but he has a long track record of using Dennis Allen's defenses as a punching bag. Thielen tore us up for 127 yards on just 7 catches. While everyone wastes their breath on the tick-tacky non-call, I want to know where the hell was the safety on the bomb pass Thielan caught before that? No where to be seen. |

I've seemed to catch the most hell from our fan base for suggesting that Wade Phillips would've been a better hire than Allen in 2016. The retort is usually "his L.A. defenses were disappointing!" OK fair, the Rams defenses haven't been dominant like some of his past defenses BUT in what way are Allen's defenses any better??? The defense wasn't even that bad last week in the playoffs. It all comes down to situational football and the little key decisions. Allen has had 4 years to figure out a 2 minute defense and still hasn't done it. That's how you get the big plays like Diggs' hail mary catch in 2017 and Thielen's bomb last week. Sad thing is, we're going to be stuck with Allen cause he's one of Payton's buddies. He's not going to hire an outsider again. |

But yeah agreed about DA, he is Paytons "Yes Man" - that's why you dont see Payton going ballistic at him like he did with Ryan and Gregg. The game we played was lost before it even began because of the lackluster gameplan the coaches put out there. |

Mike chiming in...
I know we’re supposed to love this sort of thing from our own players and hypocritically hate it from another team’s player... but Mike’s kind of a b**** on social media. |

I agree and I understand your criticism of Marcus Williams, but it also falls on Allen. Williams and Eli Apple were 2 of the biggest weaknesses in the secondary this year. I have long been saying Apple was a problem cause he's a penalty magnet with drawing blatant pass interference calls. We had a very undisciplined team this past year when it came to penalties and I think Apple ranked #1 for most of the year in drawing PI calls. |

Re: 49ers are scary good
Niners linebackers are so fast. Cook isn't breaking away from no one in the open field. Where is Rudolph or Thielan?
Diggs went deep ... double safety help, guess what ball popped out. Niners Def Coordinator - A+ today. Dennis Allen doesn't coach like that. |
