this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I find it hilarious that the Saints are so solid in 2019 that the fanbase is reduced to discussing the 3rd or 4th wide receiver position as if it's going to be the difference between going far in the playoffs ...

CGM lives up to his twitter handle. D-coordinators game plan and scheme to limit Thomas' production, yet they fail week after week. That's because we have backs that catch the ball, and tight ends that catch the ball, and other wide receivers that catch the ball, and the Transformer (T. Hill) to catch the ball. As someone pointed out, Sunday pass catchers for the Saints who were not CGM had 23 catches for 260 yards and 2 TDs. I just wonder with that type of production, why so many are being Chicken Little and thinking that the sky is falling because the Saints with their embarrasment of riches don't have a second #1 receiver on the roster. Let's see. We're betting that Cook who has not been impressive will come back from injury and ball out. Tre' smith has been hit and miss. Mostly miss before his injury. I don't feel comfortable with either as the next man up.

Sounds all good and dandy but Tre', Cook and Kirk need to get healthy and back on the field. Injured guys can't help us in late January.
It still stings for me but last year's NFCCG Wade Phillips game planned effectively to take Mike out of the equation. That forced a ton on Kamara but we had no threat deep. That game ultimately became closer than it needed to be and the refs took matters into their own hand. Tre needs to get healthy & back on the playing field ... same goes for Jared. Michael Thomas is awesome, well worth the coin but a competent D coordinator will game plan to eliminate him in the playoffs. Others must step up. |

Carr has been in nearly 200 snaps this season. Does anyone think that if he was not doing the job that CSP assigned to him that he would be that involved in the offense? Receiving production for the Saints is CGM, backs, Ginn, and tight ends in just about that order. The only balling out that anyone needs to do is to catch the ball when they are targeted. And as I stated in my previous posts when 8 receivers not named CGM catch 23 balls for 260 yards in a game, then each of those guys are doing their job without balling out. SFIAH |

There is zero doubt in my mind that they haven’t been aware of where he is right now. |
