Would A Deal For Dez Do It?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Don't forget that the knock on Bryant in Dallas was his inefficiency in the route running. That would go over like the proverbial turd in a punch bowl with Sean Payton....

Apparently it went over just fine with Payton, because he signed him last year, remember?

He's a year older and coming off that injury now, so we don't know what Payton thinks of him now.

Precisely.

Re: Would A Deal For Dez Do It?

I would take Dez because he wanted to be a Saint so bad. Under a Coach like Curtis Johnson, he would crazy complement Michael Thomas.

But if the Saints really want to make it back to and win the SuperBowl, they need to take the money they would pay Dez find a silent investor to create a retirement fund for the referees and shuttle some millions of dollars into it. We need something to offset the gOD-dELL factor.

I commend the Saints front office for at least attempting to upgrade the roster @ WR not named MT.

Let's see what Tre brings (assuming he's back vs ATL) in 2 weeks. I thought Jared would kill it up the seam route but unfortunately he hasn't performed as well as I thought and now he's injured. You'll need another red zone target when the playoffs starts.

I find it amazing that Brees tore his UCL which required surgery is back and playing at a high level before Tre and Kirkwood.

I'm still skeptical about other WR"s.

Receivers not named Michael and Ginn have 8 catches through 8 games.

How many targets is the real question. If they're not targeted much, there is the real answer.

But why aren't they targeted though? No separation? No trust? The inability to get open maybe? Remember when Brees was forcing it up to Jimmy Dickens in double/triple coverage? Bad things happen.

Smash - until I see anyone outside of Ted & Mike being productive on Sundays, I'm skeptical of our WR core. I hope Tre', Cook, Kirwood and Hogan prove me wrong though. It's a major area of vulnerability, and a risk to not have a guy that can play behind MT13... The FO knows it... and has tried for 2 years to unsuccessfully address it.

People want to ignore it, that's cool but every time Can't Guard Mike gets up slowly .... ok.

Good point. BTW according to Pro Football Reference it seems like it's 9 receptions: 5 by TQS, 3 by Harris, 1 by Carr. That's on 12 total targets for 75% effiency.

So my question is when the 3rd WR position is being targeted 4.4% of the time in the first 8 games, then truly how important could it be to the overall tenor of the offense?

BTW do any of T. Hill's 8 catches on 11 targets for 3 TDs count in this measure? I mean he lined up as a slot receiver on that TD against the Cardinals right?

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

And both Kamara and Murray have lined up as a receiver several times.
