Well I have.

I know you didn't ask but I graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge cum laude and damn proud of that distinction .

For those of you who don't know... Cum Laude doesn't mean who is your best camping buddy...
It means that you have earned at least a 3.0 total GPA. Congrads... Hopefully you turned that into something.

But genius... you didn't vote.

And you are a true fan. I can see it with a family member having attended or such, but I see people who went to others colleges still claiming allegiance to LSU for no reason other than they win. I count my wife among those. Just don't get it, personally.

You know? I'm kinda there, also Guido. I know guys who went to ULL, but they're all LSU, and I'm just kind of like... ?
But this is America. People have the right to cheer whatever they want. I'm not the Sports Police.
Plus, as FF pointed out, his daughter went to LSU, and prob. some of his money, so he can drive a purple and gold van, if he wants. My daughters are Aggies, and I know lots of A&M people, and it is a big deal, and I think its cool. There might be other associations for some people also. I spent a lot of time near Natchitoches, so I'd definitely root for Northwestern. Im getting a lot of customers who went to schools like Sam Houston State and McNeese. I admire people who get all into these kind of schools. If I went to Nichols St, you couldnt shut me up about it. So, salute to Thibodaux people.
I never could really get all into college, because of the disparity, the playoff system, or lack of, and also, I find the overtime bizarre. But mostly the disparity. Huge schools, with big sports budgets. Small schools with no chance. I just dont see how that's fun. I always like the underdog in college, but I know next to nothing about college football.
Of course, the atmosphere is the best thing about the college game, and all the rivalries, and hype, and LOYALTY.
I have a million friends who are all about LSU, and they dont know that I'm not so much. I feel like the gay guy at the office - where people are talking sports, when people come up to me, and say, "omg did you see that crap last night?" I'm just like, "How do I feel? I feel so betrayed, bewildered...." (anyone remember that movie line?) But these are my friends, so if LSU makes them happy, I'm glad too. Tiger Stadium is certainly an exciting place. I've actually circled it on the way to NOLA, just to hear the crowd and music, so maybe I do have somewhat an LSU Thing.

But nothing gives me a happy, glowing Monday morning, like a Saints win.

Re: God and the Saints?

Because of the college football playoff structure, the Tigers needed the regular season win a lot more than we did. And Bama been getting on my nerves. So yes it's an acceptable bargain ... but please tell me in advance next time
