God and the Saints?

This would be interesting to know. It seems like most of Louisiana would have made this deal and by golly... it happened...

Would any of you have made this deal with God on Friday Night?

If God would have told you that in order for LSU to win against Alabama on Saturday and because the Saints alway suck at least one game a year, the Saints would have to lose to Atlanta in the Superdome on Sunday. Would any of you accepted that deal?

Most of Louisiana would have made this deal because it was such a huge deal for LSU. :o That game was unbelievable for LSU fans!

So now you know why the Saints lost. ;)

No way in Hell. I don't care what LSU does. I have one team and one team only and that has always been the Saints. I don't get the whole pulling for a college that you never attended. I'll bet you that 95% of so called LSU fans have never taken a single course at LSU-Baton Rouge.

What a Bozo? You live in Louisiana?

I watched all of the Saints games for over 40 years. :p

Still, you maybe right...
I have never taken a course at LSU but LSU has alway been part of my life for 60+ years. I have best friends and a daughter that all graduated from there.

Make Louisiana Football Great Again!
Saints Superbowl Champs and LSU College Football Champs!

Because of the college football playoff structure, the Tigers needed the regular season win a lot more than we did. And Bama been getting on my nerves. So yes it's an acceptable bargain ... but please tell me in advance next time :)

Looks like we have a lot of Alabama fans and they got it twice up the butt so they are still mad. :p

Seems many other wanted the Saints to suck out a game for another reason or no reason. Care to point your answer to that stupid question since it happened that way? I just pointed out a pretty cool reason for most Louisiana football fans.

Besides...God over us all anyway... except LSU fans. LOL... :D

This loss to Atlanta would bug me a lot more if it was a close, winnable game that we squandered. So many people say the blowout losses bother them the most, but they don't for me. I can easily move past them. It's the close losses at the last minute you spend all your time analyzing and thinking "what if we did this, what if we did that"

Yes I get over a blowout loss quickly also. I just try to lesson the pain for others with BS post I hope I’m not offending.

I know you didn't ask but I graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge cum laude and damn proud of that distinction ;).

It means that you have earned at least a 3.0 total GPA. Congrads... Hopefully you turned that into something.

PERSONAL NOTES K MAJOR
I have 2 college degrees (none from LSU) and have achieved 4 different state licenses for banking and insurance. I was a controller for a multi billion dollar insurance company in New Orleans but decided not to become their CPA. I own my own insurance agency with over 300 clients and I'm 61 and still have a beautiful wife. ;)

I love the Saints and SEC football... Go Tigers!
I want to win the College National Championship for Louisiana and the Superbowl.

Of course not. Professional sport allegiance is different than college sports, as far as I am concerned. But, I am affiliated with the Saints emotionally since learning the new state to which I moved at age nine was getting its own NFL team. I never really had any personal interest in any college team until I attended NC State and that remains the only college program that I actively support.

No grumpiness involved. I guess given that LSU is the only major college program in the state is what gives it its popularity to non-affiliated fans. It wasn't that way in North Carolina with five major programs.

And you are a true fan. I can see it with a family member having attended or such, but I see people who went to others colleges still claiming allegiance to LSU for no reason other than they win. I count my wife among those. Just don't get it, personally.

Never heard so many Alabama fans coming out the swamps unaccepting defeat . We ate sh!!t for years and tool it proudly. And he’ll no didn’t attend LSU I proudly am a Colonel of Nichols St. U. And I cheer for LSU,many relatives and friends hold degrees from there. Have a nice on golf team . So Why ? Me and my old man used to listen to LSU on a Transistor radio on Saturday nites on the kitchen table . Tommy Casanova was my idol the reason I played football was LSU . Never got an offer to play there but it didn’t burn my puss like it does kids today. But I do get where some of u are coming from. Ur my saints boys and girls too. I don’t knock ur opinions. And been a diehard saints fan since 1967 . I were there thru the Punt pass and kick sponsored by Ford which my old man was in charge of . I love y’all .

Crap... LSU only has 5 votes... Why did I think this would be better?

Dam1953, ForeverFan, Neugey, SmashMouth, WhoDat!656 voted for the Tigers!!!

Dang... Halo needs to vote and St Thomas is an LSU fan but can't find the vote button.

What's the odds of Danno voting?

Well LSU has 5 of 19 votes for 26%... that is better than Vegas odds on Hillary Clinton's being President. :o

And Smashmouth... quit making this thread about cats. Read what the bird says.

I can see the point went right over your head. Your rationale for being a Saints fan is that you are emotionally connected to them. All the other side bar comments you made are really neither here nor there. And emotions are what connect ALL fans to ANY team.

A fake fan is one who only supports winning teams, and constantly jumps from one team to another. We call those bandwagon fans. I know you're familiar with the term. For me, my Dad went to LSU and I grew up watching LSU with him. I never went there, but they are the state school, and I've always loved them and do not pull for any other college team.

So if you have a problem with me calling myself an LSU fan, then I have a problem with you calling yourself a Saints fan. And for you to say "it wasn't like that in North Carolina" is bull crap. Yeah, you have more major universities there, but if you think that all fans of those teams went to those colleges, you are lying to yourself.

So I have a great idea, to remove all confusion. Why don't we all just pull for whoever we want to, and why don't you just find something else to complain about.

I didn't attend LSU, but I sure did party there a few times. Challenging someone's 'fanhood' is what little men do. I agree with you 110%.
