"...ESPN senior NFL writer Jeremy Fowler noted that he could envision Newton wearing black and gold some day, maybe as an heir for New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees."

Hell ****ing no!

Never liked signing division opponents' players in Free Agency...

Not sure he's smart enough to handle a complex Saints offense. He might hold on to the ball even longer than Teddy does with his 5 seconds.

I've never seen anything from Newton as a player that would suggest he is not smart enough. For me its more about the type of character he seems to be.

As an heir to Brees I'd prefer a pocket QB with a cannon. Mainly because that is the type of football I like to watch.

The problem is that college isn’t developing QBs like that anymore...the offensive game planning and strategy has changed...more spread, read option...mobile QBs. This in turn is also affecting the technique of the OL and mainly the Tackles.

It’s going to get harder and harder to find QBs that are molded and developed like that going forward.

I don’t even think Payton wants that kind of Quarterback anymore. You either adjust with the game or get left behind.

I think Sean went after Teddy so anxiously precisely because Teddy plays smart and is precise. Brees-like, although we'd agree he's no Brees. Cam is not a 'smart' QB, which is not an indictment on the man's intelligence but how he plays the game. With Sean's offense being one of precision, Cam is clearly not the man for the job here.
