Um we kept trying for long developing plays...and outside of the one bonehead throw by brees, he didnt have an ounce of time. The problem isnt drew hampering the playbook, it is the oline. When Peat is getting dusted play in and play out...yeah not gonna be much time. Our oline was completely dominated yesterday just like they were in the Rams game and the Falcons game. I am not certain but bet if we go and look at the stats they will be fairly simular. Until SP decided to go with the quick passing game again we couldn't move the ball.

BTW, this is why people kept calling TB checkdown Teddy. It wasn't just him, it was the oline.

Credit Zimmer for staying committed to the run game. 40 attempts.

Saints ran 17 times all game. Recipe for an L. 5 carries for LM against his former team. Do you think he wouldn't have been motivated to run hard? You'd rather run gadget plays & laterals instead of feeding your 6'3 235 lb RB? 3rd and short .. u run a lateral ?

Coach seemed a bit unconcerned in that post game presser. He may want to look in the mirror.

Agree about coach looking a bit unconcerned. It may be that he understands that this fell squarely on him. My only thought about your run comments was that there weren't many holes to run through. For several games this year our run O looked like Mark Ingram's early years. It's hard to run with you are getting hit 2 yards in the backfield. Minnesota's D was setting the edge, daring us to run inside. With the level of our guard play, this likely wasn't a viable option. I do believe that better play action may have slowed the pass rush some.

Payton better figure it out quick, because opposing D's will look to this and the first ATL game for recipes of shutting down the Saints.

Until Peat was yanked due to his injury, the OL play sucked.

We need more fresh talented young beef up front.

Not sure why he was so focused on running Kamara between the tackles. It's like this year he wanted Kamara to be himself and Ingram.

Exactly. Plus how many deep balls have you seen Drew complete this year? I thought I read a stat that said we had the least amount of big air yard plays.

Ginn is still living on his name as a speedster and Brees does not have the arm. That's why Taysom was paired with Harris on that bomb.

Brees is as good or as bad as the O line. He's a short, non-mobile, 40+ year old QB. He needs a great O line to give him time and, most important, provide throwing lanes. He didn't have either against the Vikings.

He was sacked 3 times... we are acting as if that’s the end of the world. Once again he was the least sacked QB in the regular season. He seemed to have plenty of time on that pick he threw...

Not saying our O line played well, but dang, some of you will blame anyone and anything before looking at Drew.

I am thankful for Drew, but I am a saints fan first, and right now I am eager to see what Payton can do with a different QB. Last time he had a different QB we went 5-0 and the games weren’t close.
