Your right in the aspect he's shown nothing to be a starting qb. but in his defense he hasn't been under C an entire game yet either. I do know when he's on the field under C, defenses don't have a clue to do with him. Being compared to Steve Young really isn't a joke. He will never be a Drew Brees but how many really will when it's said and done?

When under center most of his plays have been exotic plays. How many have been traditional in count and distance? When has he ran an entire series against a regular season defense?

Exactly. So judging him in either way until he has a greater body of work is pointless at this stage. I really would like to see him under C, but just like any (rookie basically) qb. he's going to have growing pains, Brees will be here this season I never thought he wouldn't, but if he gets hurt or starts blowing games with his arm I would like to see a mobile qb with wheels to keep plays alive behind C.

Go get a proven GUARD to protect #9.

I saw ANDRUS PEAT get blown up in the Pro Bowl yesterday, subsequent fumble from Cousins & guess what JJ Watt running the other way for 6.

Saints MUST GET A GUARD who is good in pass protection & also understands blocking schemes. Preferably an above average one ... paging Brandon Scherff. It's time to get nasty in those trenches the way Carl Nicks & Jahri Evans used to do.

Give Brees great protection and he'll slice you up.

Damn JP.

I thought Warford was at least "serviceable".

Without good guard play, Brees is gonna suffer.

And here's the thing, Major, for what we're paying, we could afford Scherff, so we shouldn't just be getting "serviceable"...

And have you noticed how few screens we run the past two seasons?

We use run those all day, usually at least for one score a game...

Maybe the Saints will consider Joe Thuney @ G.

He's solid at guard, durable and relatively young. IMO Joe is an upgrade over Peat.

Could come a lot cheaper than Brandon (assuming he's out of the Saints price point) Scherff.
