this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; It is comforting that we won 13 games and lost in our first playoff game (at home) against an inferior opponent. Yeah, it does make me feel better knowing other teams lost. Not concerned at all we laid an egg ...

It is comforting that we won 13 games and lost in our first playoff game (at home) against an inferior opponent. Yeah, it does make me feel better knowing other teams lost. Not concerned at all we laid an egg against the 2 win Falcons at home directly after a bye, were trailing against an inferior team at home in the playoffs last season before deciding to play...following it up with the same lack luster **** this year. I do feel good about that. BTW for all the injury crying..fact of the game. Every team is injured. If you dont think we are taking a step back next year you lost your mind.

But that doesn't make them meaningless. To think that they cannot be accounted for in the success or failure of a team is short-sighted. This topic has been discussed many times on NFL Radio. The health of a team is critical in its success. Sure, some injuries can be overcome if the team is lucky enough to have sufficient depth at that position, but no team has critical depth at EVERY position. That is where luck comes into play.
