Which reminds me of a story I heard on NFL Radio a couple of days ago. A coach gave Russell a CD and told him to go home and check out all the plays and come back with the ones he felt best fit him. He brought it back the next morning and told the coach to keep all the plays and that he could handle them. The CD was BLANK and was given to him as a test. True story.
Well, let's turn the tables...

Question, How do you know Taysom Hill is putting in as much or less effort than Jamarcus Russell did? In interviews since Hill arrive, I've only heard Brees and Hill disclose praise of Taysom's work and progress...

Which, leads me to the next...

Question, why would the offense not evolve, be different about Taysom's skill set? The NFL is constantly referred to as a copy-cat league. Payton is obviously looking at Chiefs and Ravens, seeing opportunities...

And then there's just that...

Question, How was Taysom to overtake Brees with limited opportunities? Irregardless of Hill's ceiling, Hill can only get better if he's afforded the opportunities on the field at the quarterback position...

Don't know about you, but I definitely knew when I hit 40. While all things are relative, you still know you're 40; 40 may just be a number, but we all know it's not 29 irregardless of our maintenance...

Now just a few years ago, Denver had an amazing team and won games with Tim Tebow - who I'd consider Hill to be a better quarterback. What Tebow had that Denver hadn't had - a leader that inspired...

Know you were watching that game as intensely as the rest of us, and you could see Hill fired those guys up when on the field, gave back confidence and maybe that's what gets this team over this playoff block...

Lastly, Eli Manning retired this week. Can't think of a more apt comparison of Eli and Peyton Manning. Eli wasn't the passer Peyton was, but Eli was Kryptonite in the playoffs...

He'd knocked off a red-hot Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay in the playoffs, defeated an undefeated Brady and the Patriots in the Superbowl. Eli even went to toe-to-toe with a red-hot Brees-led offense...

But when the Manning Boys sit down to Thanksgiving Dinner, both of them have two Superbowl rings each and Payton's second Superbowl run, well, Payton was a shell of his former self...

We knew this time was coming with Brees, all predicted various dates when, but nonetheless the foreboding was coming and we should just watch and enjoy as much of the experience we can...

The only comparison that should be made between Brees and Hill, the only one that matters, what does the scoreboard say at the end of the games in the Tournament...
K Major and rezburna like this.

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
