Billy Joe Tolliver

Let's just remember that QBing at the levels we've seen the last 15 years is going to be difficult to recreate once Brees moves on.

Brees has played nearly half of his life in the NFL. That's just nuts in and of itself.

The NFL needs to adopt the European football rule on loaning.
We could loan TB out in 2020 and bring him back later

Only took 40 years to get a "franchise" QB. If he says he can still play
at the level he's been playing, then I'm all in for another year!!!!!!

Speaking of Billy Joe Tolliver, he's a real cool guy. I met him and got to speak with him on several occasions when he was QB of the CFL Shreveport Pirates back in 1995. I was Admiral of the Pirates Armada (ie. president of the active fan club) and first met him at the very first practice. He spotted my son on the sideline and came over and asked him how he was doing and asked him if he was wearing sunscreen. He said that, "us redheads have got to watch out for this sun out here." My boy got a kick out of that.

I was actually excited when he signed with the Saints in 1998. But, he certainly wasn't a Drew Brees and there have only been a few at Drew Brees' level in the entire history of the NFL. It is entirely plausible that we never get to see another QB of Brees' caliber play for the Saints again. Let that sink in people.

If/when he retires, I’m just happy I got to see the greatest time period in Saints history with one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game

The history of the Saints clouds the judgement of the fans. Only one 40 year old quarterback has won a Super Bowl. The future is now. Even I’m starting to come around on the idea of Tua. This dance is almost over.

Agree that Brees energy level can be sporadic at his age, but when he's full-strength, he's still the best passer in the game...

But that's on Sean Payton to manage that better; it's a team effort and Payton's got to do his part as well...

There's absolutely no way I'm taking Tua and that hip in Round 1; while medicine has lept forward exponentially from the Bo Jackson era, there's still some of the same degrading, degenerative arthritic issues there...

Until just a few years ago, had about 50 VHS tapes of Larry Bird games recorded, even five of the rival Lakers; none of these teams today could shoot, pass, nor defend with those Lakers-Celtics teams - no way...
