It's certainly fair to say that this was a questionable move. |

He didn't rank all that high last year for stat. guys. As far as the eyeball test, he didn't rank too high there either.

Re: Saints agree to terms with G/T Andrus Peat on five-year contract
I'll say this about Peat, there are fair criticisms to make for sure, the least inexcusable was how out-of-shape he appeared during training camp last year as some of us here saw him at Yulman and in PreSeason play...
And it's fair to say, Peat was disappointing when asked to play Right Tackle when he was drafted to be our cornerstone LT (as Armstead was to be moved to the right side) and played poorly, with little emotion... But you can't say that he hadn't played hurt, as opposed to Mr. Glass; Peat sucked it up and even played that playoff game with pins in his hand (can't imagine what that was like even with medication)... So maybe all of it factored into the decision and maybe Peat's one of these guys that once he's got his and feels secured, that breaks him through to the next level - for Drew's sake, we can only hope and pray... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Ugh, please tell me we were not bidding against ourselves. Feel like we could've saved about 25% on the Peat contract if not for that fluke Pro Bowl appearance.
