Saints agree to terms with G/T Andrus Peat on five-year contract

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'll say this about Peat, there are fair criticisms to make for sure, the least inexcusable was how out-of-shape he appeared during training camp last year as some of us here saw him at Yulman and in PreSeason play... And ...

I'll say this about Peat, there are fair criticisms to make for sure, the least inexcusable was how out-of-shape he appeared during training camp last year as some of us here saw him at Yulman and in PreSeason play...

And it's fair to say, Peat was disappointing when asked to play Right Tackle when he was drafted to be our cornerstone LT (as Armstead was to be moved to the right side) and played poorly, with little emotion...

But you can't say that he hadn't played hurt, as opposed to Mr. Glass; Peat sucked it up and even played that playoff game with pins in his hand (can't imagine what that was like even with medication)...

So maybe all of it factored into the decision and maybe Peat's one of these guys that once he's got his and feels secured, that breaks him through to the next level - for Drew's sake, we can only hope and pray...
AsylumGuido and SmashMouth like this.

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Those factors and unknown others had to have come into play. The people that make these decisions have far more information than any of us sitting here tapping on our keys.

Except, of course, those brilliant members here that know all.

Yeah your right... let’s not ever question decisions they make... we all know how good we are in free agency with our great pick ups like Byrd and Browner, while we let guys walk like A. Hicks and Jenkins... but sure let’s not question it.
