Sure, if the Saints want to be trendy, for no actual reason. There is no statistical analysis stating that a running QB leads to more wins. Last time I checked, QB's who are proficient at just passing the ball, still win games.

Every now and then, you get a couple of good years out of a "dual threat" guy, but then they start getting beat up. Which makes it financially irresponsible to run that style of offense, consistently. So, yeah, maybe they will change to that. Or maybe they won't. I'm getting a little tired of being told to "get ready" for it. as if it is somehow necessary that this happens.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

I’m reading the tea leaves. Payton is a trendy kind of guy. When the 3-4 was big he wanted that. When the Seahawks Cover 3/Cover 1 system became the thing he wanted that. The mobile QB and RPO’s are the thing and now he wants that. I’m excited to see what the offense will look like with Hill or any other mobile QB they so choose. Shaking up the playbook has been long overdue.

Idk. I think Payton tends to jump on defensive trends because defense really isn’t his strong suit. Offensively he is a trend setter. Look at all the teams that try and emulate him. I see Payton changing things based on personnel and what other defenses are doing.

Sean used to be a trendsetter like 10 years ago. McVay and Pederson took over that mantle years ago.

Taysom Hill is not an NFL QB. I can't say that enough. He wasn't even a GOOD passer in college. What he is, is a great athlete. The Saints are using him right, when he is running routes and taking hand offs. They need to make that permanent, and stop squandering valuable playing time, by trying to make him a QB. It's beyond idiotic.

Stevens, like Taysom, was a terrible college passer. Stevens, UNLIKE Taysom, is NOT a great athlete. He's a "good" athlete. Nowhere near Taysom's level with the ball in his hands.

So IF Sean wants to do something else, he doesn't have the right QB to do it. Period.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

I’m not necessarily disagreeing, but I am saying that Sean Payton might disagree with your analysis on whether or not Hill can play QB in this league. I think they believe he can, and I think you’ll see #7 under center next year.

This guy was just an awful QB.

We traded away a 2021 3rd and 6th but the good news is we’re going to get a 3rd round comp pick for Bridgewater and a 6th round comp pick for AJ Klein.
