Not a fan.

Having said that, I'm hearing he took less to come here. Look, the guy doesn't suck. He clearly has talent, and there is no other person on Earth better suited to get his head right from a QB perspective than Sean. Drew is the consummate professional at the position and maybe Winston has his wig on right enough to fully understand the opportunity he'll have in New Orleans to revitalize his career, whether that be here or elsewhere.

He's a Saints player now. I'm 100% pulling for the man.

XLIV CHAMPS

You may want to "worry" about other things. Saints have one of the strongest locker rooms in the league. Eli Apple was "perceived" as a cancer. Didn't have a single issue in New Orleans. None.

Jimmy Dickens
Junior Gallette
Brandin Cooks .. all shown the door.

Players are either all in to what we do here or find another team to play for.

Winston won't be any different. By all accounts, he's been a likeable player by his peers.

Lol

I can't. I'm willing to bet you can't either. But I'm wiling to wager he add other offers. It's not like the Saints aren't desirable, especially for QBs.

I mean if your aim for a QB is to throw points to the other team it’s a great signing. At least with Teddy we had a ball control guy that was competent in making good calls....

I don’t get it, between this and signing peat to a huge contract it seems like they are missing the boat. Hope this isn’t the level of competence we will see after Drew.

Please research Peat's contract. It's VERY team friendly.

Regarding JW, he won a Natty. Made a Probowl. Typically throws around a 60% completion rate. He's got the goods man. He's just 26 years old and supremely under-achieving.

What's wrong with giving him a year here without stress and spotlight to see if he can grow?

Me too; hope he throws 12td and no picks in preseason.
then carries clip board/i pad throughout the season and playoffs and gets his
1st SB ring

When I read this I was totally shocked! :awe: I'm not sold on his football intelligence or emotional stability. He has a nasty interception ratio to TD's and I'm nervous as hell about him ever being under center.

The man threw for over 5,000 yards last season and it's clear to me that Payton believes that he could give us something close to what Teddy did last year if Drew were to go down again. So, I'll just have to hope he never sees the field.

Doesn't he wear the same number Winston wore in Tampa Bay?

Re: Jameis Winston 1 yr deal

Don't see the downside here

Best case- we find a QB that can hold the Fort when Drew steps away. He's never going to be a Brady or Brees but Eli took the Giants to two superbowl with the right team, hell Flacco, Foles and even Osweiler have led teams to the superbowl.

Alternatively a team gets a injury in preseason and trades for him or he draws enough attention to draw a good contract next year and gains us a comp pick.

At worst, the teams doesn't like what it sees and he gets cut or hold a clipboard for a while.
